Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

Waiting to see if Afrihost drop data prices further to match Telkom.

E.g. my 4mbps bundle (line + bandwidth) with Afrihost = R597, whilst Telkom = R548

Giving Afrihost till December and then I think I may jump ship if not adjusted, no point in paying more for bandwidth that I don't abuse.

Not 100% sure if we'll drop our prices again, we've done our best to line up with the Telkom price reductions :(
 
I wanted to adjust my current package of 10mb uncapped business to a different one on the new clientzone, it did not work. When I did it on the old clientzone it worked and it said you have to stay within business accounts and cant go to a standard account. I wanted to go from business to standard but I just decided to stay with business.

Maby you guys can have this stated on the new clientzone so their is no confusion.

But you are in Cape Town? You should not experience any shaping at the moment, as we dont have enough traffic passing through our IPC to cause heavy shaping. Im hardly ever shaped

Which options were present? Weren't they all there?

This is a bit odd. Did you unbundle the package before making the changes?
You definitely can move over to Uncapped from Business Uncapped, it'll take affect at the end of the month.

Afri*, are downloads via Xbox Live and Playstation Network reduced when shaping is in effect?
 
What are services like .... treated as and are they shaped?

A- netflix or hulu
B- VPN tunnels

No further news on this :( We need to wait for the Telkom freeze period to be over to get a better ETA :(

The situation should temporarily resolve itself during the last 2 weeks of Dec. Jhb becomes a ghost town! :p
