What about the East? Are you still adding more capacity to that IPC please
The East was practically unshaped for the entire weekend, so I don't think we're in desperate need of capacity there.
I think they're asking because you announced last year that you ordered extra capacity on all 3 IPC's
That is still in the works, but the North was the urgent upgrade.
We still have a plan to upgrade nationally, but I don't have an ETA on that just yet - I suspect though that this will means some really awesome things for our clients

56GB on 1 meg line is not even close to breaking the bank?
i was thinking of moving to Afrihost, but now I see you are talking about abusers?
I usually use about 300GB per month on 4Mbps.
Would that constitute abusing?
Sorry, was just following the thread. We don't actually use thresholds or limits to classify people as abusers. We only shape by demand, and when we shape we shape from the most aggressive users to the lightests users. So getting shaped on any total is more an indication of the extent of current demand, rather than a classification or punishment for being an "abuser"

Not from what I'm seeing. Downloads top out at about 35kbps. Thanks for the info though.

One of those sad days again, where I had to give the works Mweb account back and go back to my Afrihost account, because the mweb router, well, can only use mweb lol. Now everything on cloudload.com to every link in xbmc buffers constantly, where it never did this on Mweb. Oh well save R200 or go back to mweb with only a Seacom line, but while Seacom is up and running enjoy bufferless on-line streaming, decisions. And Afrihost, not trying to be nasty here, the nr1 ISP, which was voted Afrihost, it kinda sticks in my mind if you are the Nr1 ISP in SA I should get the NR1 streaming service right?

Not sure what you mean by base line speed. But my it's clear from my attached picture that I'm on 1Mbps.
Still 56GB projected. But now 50% Shaped.

We've upgraded or Northern network so we're not seeing any issues with streaming or any kind of services.
We'd need to do more troubleshooting on this, to see exactly what could be happening in terms of routing and throughput on this specific service.
Meant by the product line speed - in this case 1Mbps. So you should be getting (on 50% shaping) around 512kbps if you would have gotten line speed otherwise. However, might be worth testing if you turbocharge to see if you're being shaped more that you should be.
It's scary how quiet this thread has become. In this case, no news (read: complaints) is always good news
