I was hoping that Afrihost was going to spread the love today but nope

I've been trying to access my webmail I phoned afrihost for some support and no one can get me access

What a load Of utter BS 2 hours to fix my access to webmail

Sorry to hear that you're battling with webmail access. Is your site up or also down?

Drop me a PM so I can check this out - could be an issue on the shared server, or maybe something a lot simpler :(

Yeah all ISP's are battling thanks to Telkom mostly. IPC costs are still so outrageous

**** TELKOM! I've sent @telkomza a series of soul-crushing insults a few nights ago. It made me feel better about the ****ty situation that I've been in since 2014 came.

LOL - I hear you, but I am joining ... oh yeah ... the ol' MNET troll is looking at AH...:D:D

Having access to the works 4mbps mweb premium account, and of course being a happy Afrihost customer, I must just say when I compare the 2 once every 3rd day I can see mweb still streams better on services like putlocker, sockshare, gorillavid etc... (yup xbmc addons) and pings on mweb are normally 30ms less or at times 100ms less than that of Afrihost on game servers. But otherwise Afrihost is tops. Oh yeah this is when I turbocharge my connection on top of a unshaped connection (I know it wont make any difference) to be sure I get the full service from my Afrihost connection. But really this is not a stab at Afrihost, just saying. :)

Afrihost, with your awesome data prices on the mobile segment, when can we expect contracts like for instance Google Nexus 7" with 5GB Afrihost data at only R220 a month? :D

I'm thinking of moving line rental and data to AfriHost.

I'm currently using AfriHost's 4mb Home Uncapped, with Telkom line rental. If I were to move over to AfriHost 4mb Business bundle (data + line), would the change be effective immediately, or do I need to wait 1 calendar month?

I did a test at work at the beginning of this year on the data part, 4mbps to 2mbps, 2mbps was not enough for dropbox and web browsing and felt way unstable, went back to 4mbps. Both the downgrade and upgrade was instant. ADSL part from 10mbps to 4mbps was about a week, or maybe 4 days. From Telkom to Afrihost it will take about 4 days, with a maximum of 15 days. Telkom and Afrihost will bill you though, then Telkom needs to make their sums and credit you the next month once you phone them about it.

I doubt it would be a 24month contract like that. Maybe a interest-free pay-off for a device (the same as what they do with their current devices)

Your business account will be active immediately, but you will just need to wait for the line to transfer (3+ days), but after that - should be all good :) you won't regret a business account.

How long does it take to get a support ticket answered??

A) 1 day?
B) 1 week?
C) undetermined?

and the correct answer is ( ) !!

2 - 3 days, sometimes 4 days. Depends what nr you are in the q. Last week it took me 20 minutes to get through to support when I phoned them LOL. To many customers for them to handle currently it seems, but as I understand as the customers grow so does the AfriTeam.

Okay so I saw posts about the Network tool from AH and decided to test it and went looking for it in my Clientzone.
Could't find it and found it on the website and proceeded to download AfrihostNetworkTester and ran it after installation.

Every time I run it, it is being detected as virus by Avira though.

Anybody else?

P.S
AH is running great, but just wanted to test the tool and see what info would be displayed.

It looks like something has been attached to the file, however when I download it - I don't get anything like that? Could you run malwarebytes please :)

I have run it on the single exe file and showed up nothing.

I'm running full scan with Avira in safe mode and will then run Full MB scan.

I know Avira is prone give false positives, so will see how it goes.
It will take sevearal hours to complete both tests.
