I know we suck a bit at the moment. The answer is we'll keep doing our best with the resources we have but Gian's email brought us TONS of great people who should hopefully hit the floor soon, once they've been trained.

I understand, but this is an issue going back to December that has not been resolved... and I see other users have responses in hours!!! just would like a day without any disconnects

If it's on steam you can always backup your files. And again if on steam, there are 3 jhb servers, one of them routes via p2p traffic, so just change it.

As far as I know it's Origin Only. My settings are in the cloud, and downloads went pretty much full speed 420KB/s, but it was about 29GB with expansion pack, so I had to wait quite a bit.

Thanks for reply Afriman I would like to change back, I miss 10mbps download speeds :D

I had enough this morning, BF4 downloaded at 1MB/s from Origin, cool, afterwards try to download a 30MB file from Asus's site and it goes at 13KB/s, switch to 3G and it's down in about a minute. Tried to download Server 2012 Hypercore from MS's site, 20KB/s.

Cancelled, moved to WA and getting full speed on all downloads.

How was the shaping? Also - WA have quite a bit of shaping themselves :(

Their shaping is based on your usage and not the entire network including the abusers that bypass the shaping on Afrihost as that's the only way the guys on their leaderboards will be able to do such high amounts.

Who is WA? Just curious as I think everywhere one goes to there will always be some sort of shaping in place unfortunately :( My speeds haven't been ideal either, I hope this gets sorted out soon.

Good point unless they stream and game continuously 24/7. We do have Internet addicts on this site you know ;) :D

Intermittent connectivity is the Bermuda triangle of fault logging. If Telkom see that you have a continuous session of more than, say, an hour, they clear the fault in many cases. What we really need to do is try to get your fault looked into by their specialist team, but that usually takes several faults before they consider that.

We'll keep trying for, I promise, but just please also understand that this is a very tough one to get resolved as well :(

Can definitely see the packet loss here. Definitely too many timeouts in your ping tests and timeouts. We need to compare this to your connection logs to see if you're actually dropping your session.

My pleasure - let me know if you have any hassles with the change :)

This is pretty unusual, we're seeing minimal shaping overall on the network. It's only mostly in the South now, but even there shaping was very light over yesterday at least.

What were your shaping settings on in ClientZone?

Shaping was supposedly at 0%

This 20KB/s BS on a 10Mbps account has been going on since Oct/Nov and I thought I'd wait it out till the new capacity was in, which is is now and it improved for a week or so.

It's definitely not my line/exchange as the WA account I'm on now is currently downloading a torrent and a game update at a combined rate of 8.7Mbps

I also tested the download from Asus's and MS's sites again and it went straight to full line speed.

Definitely odd. Downloads were running fine when I tested last night (in North). Was getting pretty much line speed on my side. :(

Just want to say that ever since the excessive shaping end of last year.
I have hardly had any shaping whatsoever, now and again during business hours.
Based in Durban if anybody was wondering...

Extremely happy with my 4mb uncapped product, everything from gaming, surfing to downloading has been awesome.
Only downside is streaming such as twitch can sometimes have issues but that's the same with every isp and there are so many factors that could impact the live streams

That's awesome - glad to hear it.

We've had some issues with Twitch, but it seems to be a general problem with their service. We've logged several tickets with them without success :(
