Looks like there's a timeout on the network here, on hop 7 & 8.
Are you seeing any slow speeds on the line?

I have been a huge Afrihost fan from a VERY long time. I am on 4Mb uncapped. Things were going great until a couple of weeks ago, when everything seems to have gone to hell & now I am in hell.

When I run speedtests, I have 3.2Mb Local (Ping 30ms) & 1Mb (Ping 200ms) or less on International.

I have downloaded 80Gb this month & now I see that 18.8% Download shaping & 6.25% on Peer 2 Peer - WTF?!? 80Gb, that is nothing for Uncapped or am I wrong?!?

I have tested on Capped accounts 1Gb on Afrihost & 5Gb Web Africa - The results are obviously much better, with double the amount on speedtests.

So, I may as well switched to a Capped account or just find another ISP!?!

It seems that suddenly everyone is being shaped & that there are so many unhappy Afrihost clients. Have you guys grown too fast too quickly & now we are being made to suffer?!?

I phoned support on Friday afternoon @ around 16h30 & was on hold for 40 minutes & eventually put down. The 'Live' web chat was also unvailable. Tried on Friday night again & was also on hold for 20 minutes & eventually put down. The hold time on Saturday was even worse.

While I understand that you guys are probably trying your best, it doesn't seem to be good enough!?!

Perhaps creating a new sexy website should have been number two on the list with other things receiving more attention.

North IPC completely saturated again:

Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P

North IPC completely saturated again:

Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P

I repeat, " .... Stop signing up new clients, AH! You can't even service the existing client-base! .... You may want to consider a different partner, other than MTN.... They obviously are not prioritising your clients, only their's "

This is terrible news.

I thought it was just the South where we were struggling.
So the last upgrade you guys received did not even last a month or maybe 2 months?

I'm bolting for 75gb+75gb at the end of the month. Only ever gone past 150gb twice in my uncapped life so that will suit me just fine.

Can't you only do so at the end of the month?

nope, did it right now via client zone, although it's prorated my uncapped usage against the capped account, but I can live with it for the rest of the month

Just to confirm:

* You Unbundled
* You changed Uncapped Account to Capped Account
* You didn't receive any invoices (could you double check for me please, in the Invoice Section as well as Statement Section)
* Your capped account has your Uncapped Usage marked against it

I switched to capped and never looked back. So glad I didn't switch to uncapped with the North IPC was "upgraded".

Also just switched, don't have double Data. Just PMed about this, posted below for your reference:

Hi AfriGuy.

I switched from 4 Meg Uncapped Home to 75GB + 75GB. I did the following:

Unbundle Package
Change 4 Meg Uncapped to 75GB + 75GB
Not rebundle

I don't seem to have the extra data though, I just have 75GB. I see the the Ts and Cs (http://www.afrihost.com/site/newsroom/view/double_capped_dsl?src=homeslide) state "All existing Capped Data clients will automatically be given double their GBs from the 1st of April", however I was never an existing Capped Data Client (came from Uncapped).

Please load an extra 75GB of Data to my account ([email protected]) or, if you're not willing to, please revert my account back to a 4 Meg Home Uncapped Bundle for R597 with no penalty to me, as the Ts and Cs weren't clear.

Thanks.
Michael.

I know this is frustrating :( I'm sure we can see an improvement really soon.

I am relatively new to AH, but I have to concur with the other users here .... AH has been promising to increase capacity and review prices for a while now ..... Is this REALLY going to happen ''soon'' .... It was part of my decision to move.

S'pose I have 60 days before the double your money back expires....

Just more on this, been speaking to @Afrihost. Here's what we've agreed on:

New Signups to Capped Accounts get double data now
Existing Capped Accounts get Double Data 1st of April
I am a new Capped Account Signup (never had one before)
I don't get Double Data.

To confirm, their Ts and Cs on the News Room page explicitly state the below:

All Capped Data packages (excluding Bundles) will be doubled and are available immediately for new signups. All existing Capped Data clients will automatically be given double their GBs from the 1st of April.

I certainly don't fit into the latter group (Existing Capped Data Accounts) so certainly I fit into the former (New Capped Data Packages) - yet I'm being told I don't get Double Data.

Would I get charged pro rata if I changed to capped now? Or would changes only take place at the beginning of next month?
