Would I get charged pro rata if I changed to capped now? Or would changes only take place at the beginning of next month?

I also don't know how guys moved from uncapped to capped because it says "changes only effective 1st April" in the client zone.

Also just switched, don't have double Data. Just PMed about this, posted below for your reference:

Hi AfriGuy.

I switched from 4 Meg Uncapped Home to 75GB + 75GB. I did the following:

Unbundle Package
Change 4 Meg Uncapped to 75GB + 75GB
Not rebundle

I don't seem to have the extra data though, I just have 75GB. I see the the Ts and Cs (http://www.afrihost.com/site/newsroom/view/double_capped_dsl?src=homeslide) state "All existing Capped Data clients will automatically be given double their GBs from the 1st of April", however I was never an existing Capped Data Client (came from Uncapped).

Please load an extra 75GB of Data to my account ([email protected]) or, if you're not willing to, please revert my account back to a 4 Meg Home Uncapped Bundle for R597 with no penalty to me, as the Ts and Cs weren't clear.

Thanks.
Michael.

I see our Twitter team has assisted with this, I've also replied to your PM :)
Shout if there is anything more I can do.

It depends on the package you're moving over too - the ClientZone will confirm this though.

What happened between yesterday and today? For the last month and a half since the upgrade I've had 100% speed 24/7, now suddenly we are back to shaping?
Unless something happened with the lines this is really unacceptable. If you do a upgrade on your network it should be felt for more than a month and a half...

I'm on unbundled uncapped 4mbps. Is there any way I can change to capped now? The last few days my net is awful. Not just P2P. Even web browsing is a chore now.

Tried to run the speedtest a few pages back but something was preventing the traceroute part. Just times out at every step. I only use Windows 8's firewall and AV so doubt it's that...

Moved over from Mweb at the start of the month. Already regretting it. Shaping on P2P is understandable (although 6.25% line speed is quite drastic), but on http downloads as well?

Right, Afrihost, take my body, I am ready.

Can't recall which part of the country you are, but shaping is pretty hectic, especially in the South.

Realtime services are normally good for me. From 02:00 - 06:00 shaping are normally lifted. Capacity is apparently arriving "soon".

AH really ran well for me, when not shaped (Http and P2P).

Speed Test is fluctuating more than I have ever seen and web browsing is shocking. This on my business account and my free capped account. Switched to Hellkom guest account and speed test is perfect. It's all falling to pieces :)

Damnit.

It can't possibly be worse than Telkom at the moment. :(

No it is not. The account runs well. It is just the http and P2P downloads that are shaped heavily atm.
Realtime services, incl streaming and gaming works well for me.

Sucks to be constantly throttled!! 30Kbps on my 2mb line.

I'm assuming your browsing, streaming and other real time usage is running as normal? If so, you're being shaped and not throttled. Afrihost don't throttle their accounts, it's in their T's and C's.

Having said that, I feel your pain :D

Refer to my message (and others) about 2 pages back, where streaming (YouTube and Netflix etc) ARE affected despite them being realtime protocols. I hope this gets better soon, seirously.

Shaping is really excessive for the past 3 weeks...

After midnight and i'm still on the harshest shaping protocol of 12.5 http and 6.25 p2p..

what's going on in the Durban region?

Makes one wonder why they doing all these specials if they don't have the bandwidth or support capacity.

It's irresponsible.
