Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

AfriMan I wish you were back - I sent a PM to one of the reps on Monday and still no answer and questions on the thread going unanswered. I have tried the call-centre twice to help me but let us rather not go into those conversations - I knew more than them. Are they trained or educated about networking and ISP's or do they read off a script? Actually let us not worry about that, they are trying to earn a living like everyone else - and to judge them is unfair - but please answer about the unbundling side or things to get the capped special. This radio silence is a killer. Also while we are being shaped to 18% and 6% could you guys please stop taking on more clients and customers? I know on your website it says everything is running like fantastically but I put it to you that when you receive only 6% of the amount owned for the month from customers, you will not be impressed.

I know it hasn't been the best week, but please understand that I'm doing my best to catch up and reply to everyones PMs and posts.

Hi

I've just run through your PM and replied, sorry this took so long. My inbox has exploded this week :(

Changes to any accounts can be done via the ClientZone, any changes (unless it's an upgrade) will take affect on the 1st April. If there are any errors/ issues while trying to change the account to Capped you need to unbundle the package, make the changes and re-bundle.

Ok. Let me try this again ....

I am currently on a 4Mb Uncapped standard account only. My line with Telkom.

You offer a 4Mb BUSINESS bundle at R797, and that is where I want to go.

Now, if I port my line over to you via the CP, it will cost R244.
If I then change over to the 4Mb business package it will cost R697.
In total R941 as opposed to the R797. Your prices and offers do not tie up at all.

THIS IS WORKING AS ABOVE ........

My question is simply, how is the quickest easiest way to move from my current 4Mb Uncapped standard to the R797 BUNDLED business package?

Its not too easy with the CP unfortunately.

No rush, I know your are busy, but this will be day three of asking and the 10th request.......

Those thinking of swapping to a business account beware. They are throttling speeds:

There is something massively wrong at AH at the moment

Hope they can get the problem and it sort it out ASAP

With shaping active or with turbo charge my account is slow slow slow - speedtest shows this all the time, not getting close to my 2mbs line speeds

I think the ClientZone will show the unbundled price. As soon as you move over and have the package bundled it'll reflect and update to the correct pricing.

Are you still having troubles today?

Speaking as an ex AH client that has gone through this:

Moving of the line is free, there might be line charges from both Telkom and AH but you end up getting credited in the long run automatically.

Move your home uncapped to business through clientzone 2.

Wait until its activated (up to 24 hours).

Then in clientzone 1, ask for your line to be moved from Telkom.

I think you can only bundle after the line is actually moved and on their system but can't remember.

Hi AfriGuy

Sent you another PM. Please could you look at it? The client zone says that whatever changes you do will take effect 1 April so signed up for capped and it changed it straight away?

I'll take a look at your PM ASAP.

Thank you very much for your help AfriGuy. I really appreciate it and the effort you went through to help :)

Had some downtime last night, came back on this morning. Maintenance? Also, today is the first time since the capacity upgrade that I see shaping on my line.

Thanks Zertop

Looks like theres some intermittent latency on the exchange, seems to jump up and down a bit according to these results.
If you run the test again are you able to replicate this?
