It would depend on the line quality. Generally, we'd see average performance in that range, with lines in areas with better cabling and closer to their respective exchanges performing better. Ultimately every line is a unique case, with individual circumstances. There is no way to give an expectation of throughput on any line.

Yeah, I just realised now, if Afrihost worked perfectly all the time things would be boring lol. Don't want to jinx it though and when I get home my line is kaka. (knocks on wood)

That's not AH fault though. If you run a 4Meg account from them on a 6Meg line you will get your full 4Megs and usually a bit more.
