Not seeing any auth issues on my end, PADO usually points to an issue with your routers communication to our Radius box.
Drop me a PM with your DSL username and I'll take a look at the logs

The 2nd hop indicates that latency is present before you actually get onto the MTN network, so it's likely that the local exchange is congested, especially if the line is new.

If it is congestion, you will generally see your performance drop off as people start coming home in the evenings and start to use their ADSL connections. Peak times are also generally early in the morning and over lunch.

My line on telkoms ADSL checker says I am on 10mbps but my router is only syncing at 2mbps why am I paying so much for this?

So what is the FUP amount gigs with a 4mb uncapped these days before shaping kicks in? Just roughly is ok.

There is no FUP, they shape all home uncapped accounts from 7:30am until about 11pm. They unshape dynamically, so sometimes you become unshaped earlier than 11pm, and sometimes you can become unshaped after midnight. It all depends on the network load.

Pretty much what ainsin says below
We don't shape around individual account usage but rather according to the networks demand.

There is no FUP, they shape all home uncapped accounts from 7:30am until about 11pm. They unshape dynamically, so sometimes you become unshaped earlier than 11pm, and sometimes you can become unshaped after midnight. It all depends on the network load.

Changed to 200GB capped account a few months ago (April/May) due to constant shaping 24/7, even past midnight and into the next day. Came back to uncapped last month and it seems there has been improvements in the network. Managed to clock just over 200GB with my uncapped so looking good, Afrihost . Shaping is definitely better; getting full speeds after midnight whenever I checked. And I hear there are more improvements coming to the South (my area). Looking forward to that.
