Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

Hmmmm, then something funky is definitely happening, if you notice it again, can you please let myself or AfriGuy know ASAP so that we can check to see exactly what is happening on your account.

Okay so I am moving and I have been considering getting the bundled line and 10 uncapped instead of my capped account as I will be sharing a house with two other people.

Two of us game. Everyone would like to stream (not at the same time). And so on... We are going to be moving to woodstock in cape town.

Would the bundled 10mb uncapped account be sufficient?

Afriguy/dude, can you please give me some more info or any other suggestions?

I'm sure the Uncapped would suffice :) You can always try the account, and if you end requiring an unshaped data account you can always change.

I live quite close to woodstock and would reccomend you rather go with a different isp unless you want speeds like below

I've been fighting with afrihost for almost 2 months to get my issue sorted out and have gotten a whopping 2 phone calls

Sounds like there's a fault on the line though - could you PM me your info? I'll gladly have this followed up on.
 
So as a test I changed to a test ISP account.. what do you know, downloads now at full speed! So yes, definitely an issue AH side. :(

Is your account not shaped though? Downloads may be slow is shaping is being implemented on the network.

It seems you guys are shaping non-stop. Downloads have been slow for last two days! Non stop. At about 2kb/s.. so yea..

The network has been quite busy this week, previously though - hardly any shaping was taking place.
Most clients would have been unshaped late last night. Have you tried a turbocharge session to speed up downloads?

Last night was the worse. 0Kb/s. Even after activating Turbocharge which did absolutely nothing

Did you manage to run any troubleshooting with our team? Where all downloads slow while under a turbocharge?

All downloads were slow. browsing seems OK and YouTube.. well I gave up on that. But I've decided to move away from AH. Thanks for the support and service thus far. I'll be keeping a few services with AH. Just not ADSL.

its has been on Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P for like 2 days straight, NO MATTER OF THE TIME - early morning, mid-morning, morning, early afternoon, mid-afternoon, afternoon, early evening, mid-evening & evening ( get the point !!! )

if this is set to continue, you have lost another paying client, so of this BS crap

this is an AH NETWORK ISSUE that you are all hidding saying that there is no capacity problems...

Last time capacity went kaput, the shaping was not even this bad...

And you talk about " TurboCharge ", my turbo charge my a$$ - blew about all my " turbos " this morning and got 0k/bs
 
Yeh, something's up at AfriHost and they're not telling us. Someone has changed something or they have taken on a whole lot of clients or something has happened... It's getting worse and worse, day by day... I can't even make out what people are saying on TeamSpeak or mumble.

I tried to get to clientzone to turbocharge, but it won't even load...
 
I've been shaped into the ground for the past few days. Account is 2mbps uncapped. Location is JHB Westrand.

Clientzone says my P2P is shaped to 6.5%. Well, 6.5% of 2mbps is 16kB/s. I can't even get 1kB/s. So BS to that.

I don't get unshaped at midnight - the shaping continues until after 6am. So BS to the "shaping removed after midnight".

The Turbocharge wossname made a difference, but really, a) what is 60 minutes of usable speed gonna help me in a month? and b) the "joy" didn't last long - it was decent (60kB/s) for 7 minutes then died (8kB/s). So BS to "Turbocharge".

Life at Afrihost never used to be like this. This will be my last month with Afrihost if nothing changes. Which might be exactly what they want.

What's this, the third night now and still shaped ........ if there are no answers forthcoming during the day coming up, I'm gone as a client. Over this bullshyte and no one is saying bloody nothing :mad:

Less than a gig in 3 days - yet all lights are green on afrihost.com - i call bull
at least tell us whats happening
 
This is my first month back with Afrihost since the capacity issues a year ago and I am horribly disappointed. Will give it till the 25th and then decide whether to move on and claim my money back guarantee.
