Even Gmail being shaped! Barely loading on uncapped, switch to free AH capped account and voila! Would love to here the explanation for this one...

You know what REALLY p!sses me off??? DSL network status is, and has been, green on their site for days now... and CLEARLY something is wrong...

Yeah. Still shaped here as well. Getting packet loss, high ping...

They keep telling us that when they shape none of the real time services should be affected, and yet, every time I get shaped, my ping goes up, I get packet loss, etc.

shaping shrugged off 5 mins ago but I'm having funky ping and packetloss, just can't win :(

So. It's Sunday (Yeah Saturday. My mistake.) and randomly my line is now capping out at 1mbit (I have 4mbit). Bad pings, slow loading pages. I restarted my router and now I can't even get over 0.5mbit. Changed to Free 1GB Afri account. Same thing. Changed to Web Africa and full speed. Fix your stuff Afrihost.

You're about to have an awesome day!

Can't take this packet loss anymore...... Afrihost has gone to sh*t. I tried sticking through it, even when they were having issues for 3 months non stop, but I'm over it.

Still having an issue in War Thunder. Over 1000ms ping with 50-80% packet loss. Changed to Web Africa free 1GB. No issue. Changed to Afrihost free 1GB. No issue. I've changed between accounts multiple times. Your shaper on uncapped is bugging around with War Thunder? Been doing this since Saturday. Trying a Turbo to see if that fixes the issue....well I wouldn't know if it's working since I'm 15 minutes into the Turbo and it hasn't kicked in yet.

I'll let you know when/if it kicks in.

EDIT: OK. So I restarted the router (very silly that you have to do that to get Turbo to recognise.) Started up a match. Ping is back to normal. Afriman. Fix your shaper.

Also no, it isn't because I restarted the router. I did that earlier when there was an issue and it did nothing.

Morning Guys!

I'm sure you guys noticed the mishap on Saturday, basically two of the highly important servers that regulates the bandwidth management suffered an emergency shutdown, this caused all new sessions from about 04h40 on Saturday to be assigned to fallback bandwidth which caused the slow speeds for those new sessions. The issue was resolved in a few hours, but our system had to start working through all new active sessions, and disconnect them to ensure that the users were re-assigned to the correct bandwidth group. This happened again on Sunday evening, but this was resolved within a hour.

If you are still seeing slower than normal throughput, powering down your ADSL modem for 30 seconds, then powering it on again should get you running at full speed again.

Needless to say I am really sorry guys, this is definitely not a cool thing to have happen, and we're taking extremely thorough changes to make sure this does not happen again.

If you are still seeing performance that is not up to scratch please let me know!

Thanks for doing all the thorough testing!

I've asked our Critical Care Team to get the signature for War Thunder loaded as quickly as possible, until then I can add some extra data to your 1GB Capped free account to facilitate your gaming.

The lights were green on the website... No feedback on forums.... Nothing on Twitter (that I can see)...

Really annoyed at the current situation, to be honest. This weekend was a jump around to different accounts, turbocharge (which I even bought more of, as mine are all used up), VPNs... and then last night... BLAM, not even the VPN worked...

:(

That's definitely not cool, we're taking steps to make sure we keep each of our Users up to date on our exact network status at all times.

I'll gladly provide you credit for the TurboCharge minutes that you used, can you please send me a PM with the Username of the account that you used so that I can quickly do this for you.
