It does though, adding products that are built for specific protocols can get really confusing. I know I wouldn't want to sift through product pages, trying to determine which one is best for me. Capped, Business and Uncapped is working for us, drilling down to surfing only, streaming only, prioritised for gaming, downloaders paradise will make things a little crazy, as some examples :)

We need to get the experience up to what it was, which involves technical changes, implementations and tweaks.

I keep hearing gaming is untouched but all I experience is the opposite. Oh and when the shaper decided to relax and I logged in, the ping was 290 odd.
 
Critical Care knows, I've told them twice it's Dungeons And Dragons Online ..... unplayable that :(

That's funny, the legends couldn't give me any worthwhile feedback other than they were waiting for feedback from management about download and latency issues.

Wonder what management would have to do with speed & latency issues...

Our Critical Care Team handles all gaming-related issues, and are able to upload specific game profiles to our network management software, so they'll definitely be able to get this sorted ASAP.

Well I'm telling you they didn't. In actual fact the level of pointless feedback was no different from normal support.
 
Afri guys ....... I've cancelled the uncapped account and am moving on but the parental unit is taking up a capped account with you and I was wondering if she could keep the email address that is linked to the uncapped at all?

Is the rents mail account setup on your DSL account?
 
No, all i did was the upgrade to 20Mbps VDSL uncapped. Which is still not working btw, still only getting 10mbps.

Turbocharge doesn't work with the line, it works with the Uncapped account. So unless the data package has changed, you should still have it as an option. We've been chatting by PM about your line, can we look at this over PM as well?
 
No Shaping applied and yet my mom is struggling to watch videos on youtube on her phone (just has a still image. Doesn't even have to load video) and my torrents keep timing out. If the torrents get above 40kB/s, then its a lot on a 4mb line -_-

Even worse than that I can barely connect with a VPN to do work. I can connect with the VPN but almost nothing will load on the laptop. Then I switch to WebAfrica and everything works fine...

don't warry peeps wait till the end of the month then your internet will be better coz i am canceling my 25 odd accounts then your pain will be over...

Yea.. It's crawling at the moment. I can't break more than 0.2Mbit/s on Youtube...

10MB line..
 
I am experiencing incredibly slow speeds on my uncapped 4meg account, but only in very specific circumstances which lead me to believe there is a problem with the shaping on my account.

When browsing in chrome, access to google.co.za and youtube throttle to a fairly consistent 20kbps.
Switch to IE, speeds goes back up to full.
Switch to a different ISP, speed in Chrome shoots up to full.

What's going on Afrihost? This has been an off and on issue for me for the last 2 months.
