As far as I know Capped accounts should work on Fibre, but probably not business because of the CLID limitation and the way fibre accounts authenticate. VDSL should be fine for Business though :)

Afriman, do you guys do Fibre to the Home yet in CPT? (bellville area)

Where can i check in which area's / zones is the FTTH available (not sure if one must use Telkom FTTH or maybe.. Mweb FTTH or do Afrihost also do FTTH )

Telkom do have a coverage map on their website but you'll have to check individual providers for their coverage like Vumatel, Smart Village, FibreHoods, etc.

Is this the correct place to report results with Afrigreen?

So far, download speeds have improved (less throttling) and browsing is reasonable. YouTube seems a bit slower. Gaming is still not as good as Telkom (high pings). The worst bit so far is internet keeps cutting off altogether for short periods (with Telkom still working).

Uncapped with Afrihost used to be great. At one point we were 4 people playing the exact same game at the exact same time on my line with ZERO lag. Even when we pulled over 400gb one month, everything was still fine working as expected. But for the last 2 months or so not even one of us can play online properly.

I know Afrihost has issues and I've been waiting to see if things improve the last 2 months or so, but when I was unable to pull anything more than around 30-50kb/s from youtube the other night, I logged a ticket in which I talk about the youtube AND gaming issues. The response I got was openDNS settings to fix youtube... which it didn't, but what about my gaming issues???

If one of us play online, there is a little bit of lag and packet loss. If 2 of us play it's unplayable. No way should a game like CS GO clog up a 4mb line, but that's exactly what it feels like. It seems something is restricting bandwidth to any of the games and any of the local and international servers we try and play. I'm not saying that is what is actually happening, only that this is what it feels like.

I can have my brother play while I download something at 100kb/s and it doesn't make is experience worse, but if I join the same game... unplayable.

I simply cannot speak to the support team anymore. They make me more angry than the actual problem. Most of the time they don't read or respond to everything I send in the ticket or I get stupid advice like "restart the router"... like that wasn't the first thing I thought about. Or they let me know that they will have the engineers look at it and then later let me know that the engineers say it's all fine. If it was all fine, I would not have to log a ticket now would I?? But what do I know... I'm just another using who thinks computers run on magic...

I feel I've explained this quite clearly. It appears that gaming and streaming is being choked. Even the 1gb free account is having similar issues, but not nearly as bad as with my uncapped account.

Speedtest results are perfect. If I activate a turbo boost, I can download a torrent at full line speed during peak hours. Steam updates runs perfectly. Any of the websites I could think of loads and runs perfectly.

EVERYTHING except gaming and streaming works which doesn't make sens. Surely if this was related to the crap Afrihost has with their entire network, I should have problems with everything?? But I don't... just gaming and streaming...

Really sorry to hear that we've let you down so much :(
I can promise you, that we're working full steam ahead on getting the accounts up to what you've become used to!

youtube was terrible this past weekend. what's really bad is that no one seems to be attending to it regardless if a call is logged. Many complaints over Twitter but it is left unattended to.

There were definitely some Google issues this weekend :( I believe most have been resolved now though.
Did you get in touch with our Support team to troubleshoot at all? Our Social and MyBB teams are available Mon - Fri.

yea... I can tell Afrihost is working on it because it's gotten worse... much worse...

General browsing is very slow tonight. Can't even stream in 360p on YouTube without buffering. Are there problems in the South?
