HapticSimian - send a cellphone picture of the error on Xbox Live to AfriMan from your phone's email - if you can, do a connection test on your Xbox as well, and send the details - [email protected] - also include you MTN account username.
He will forward the details to the MTN technical people - seems like they are still busy opening the ports :)
 


Thanks Afrihost, was good while it lasted(4mb uncapped). I am cancelling this rubbish.
 
How many Gb's you download? If over 50Gb then it is because IS doesn't like it and Afrihost don't want to know. Yes wait till you hit 60Gb with mweb/afrihost.

Mmmm just watched the dude from red bull do the jump and now all i get is sever 500 error wtf ????
 
Youtube is on and off this side too, looks like they cannot handle so much people on their servers at one time, couldn't even finish watching the red bull jump thingy.
 
YIP. I think most of the AH client base will shift if this goes on much longer. Come the 24th and the speed and latency are crappy and im off.

I received an email saying they were migrating this week Tuesday (16th)??

It better not take until the 25th because I certainly won't be coughing up for virtually a whole month of dial up nostalgia. I'll actually have my credit card reversed if needs be - you really can't expect people to pay for a broadband line for weeks/months and then deliver kaka like this. I really don't care about the logistics of the switchover from IS to MTN - that is Afrihost's speciality as an ISP and the reason that I pay them so that I don't have to worry about things like that. Afrihost has always delivered great service/value in the past, and I hope they get back to that, but I am not a charity organisation and their past glory is only valid for so long.
 
Everyone just needs to calm down and wait for Tuesday, or at least until they have fully moved over to MTN. I was getting just as cheesed with the poor performance but agreed to wait for the move before being hasty. I think the move will make a big difference. I am happy to wait it until we are on MTN and take it from there. Be patient guys, its coming :)
 
I hope Afrihost's ready for the D3 1.05 patch drop ... ;)

Need to really THANK YOU for all the feedback, it's really helped us identify issues that we needed to get sorted before tomorrow. So far we have managed to sort out the PSN issue (which got me very worried - I need to FIFA online, dammit!). The Battlenet issue should be sorted out very soon, we're told this is a routing issue which should be fixed pretty quick. We are still testing on the Xbox Live issue. I was able to log in with my profile without issues, but we'll do more testing and downloads to get this sorted.

We're also checking out the WoW and GuildWar's problems that were reported, but it would also really help if guys who are NOT having these issues would post, to give us an idea of where to look for the problems.

You will have access to Newshost my friend, you just wont be able to use the IS news server for all your favourite news articles.

My suggestion is take the time to get a prepaid Astraweb/Newsdemon account... worth the effort!

I plan on getting the 1TB Astraweb account. I had the 3 month account before, but I download so little, that the 1TB will last me for a few years. For only $50, it is worth it.
