Me too Zoid.

I lost ISP connection round about 12:56.

I think its time for bed and maybe Santa will have given me a working ISP by the tree by morning :)

Yep, neither my uncapped or capped accounts are connecting.

Just getting:

Failed to authenticate ourselves to peer.

Migration finished on my account. After a longer downtime I could connect again and immediately conducted a speedtest. Weird thing it didn't go automatically to a CT server but to JHB. 40 ms ping compared to my usual 15 ... wtf??? When I tried the CPT server I even got 60ms!!! But download rate is quite cool, 5.09 instead of the 3.xx I used to get in the last couple weeks. Hm hm hm, too bad that for me a good ping is more important than a fast download speeed.

Is the new 105. . . IP it?

Piss poor performance on Youtube, HTTP downloads.

Lol, looking good!

Speedtest fail, but so far, its looking good!

So far so good, but I'm going to reserve judgement for a few days and see.

According to their website,

If you are having trouble connecting to the Internet, please change your ADSL username in your router or modem as illustrated in the example below.
Regular username: [email protected]
New username: [email protected]

and that's done the trick.

Also, I am still able to connect to news.is.co.za

Morning Guys

So this is the story - Telkom did not allocate enough IP addresses from the MTN range to be able to allow everyone to authenticate properly. It's being resolved now, we expect absolutely everyone to be fixed and sorted out by midday today.

For now you can use the @afrihost.co.za to @afrigamer.co.za username change to get immediately online. This workaround will stay in place until 5pm today, by which time these problems should be entirely resolved.

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience.

PS. I know there are a few unanswered PM's in my mailbox, and I will answer each of them as soon as this issue is sorted out :)

@Skint, that should be the case... Throttling is supposed to become more lenient on MTN.

I am pretty disappointed at the moment.
Moved from MWEB to Afrihost this month, and in a house of 5 I have heard a lot of loud F-words when people have been on Youtube, Gaming etc. I tried out the Rage 4meg Uncapped MTN Trial which was also dismal, eventually all gaming stopped working Couldn't connect to diablo3 website, or connect on Diablo or Battlefield 3.

I'll ride out the rest of the month and see how it goes, but at the moment I don't know which is worse, MTN or IS network.

People like technophobes and those not so familiar with router configs will be having a nightmare today.

Same problem here. Just waiting to see what effect this move has on Mweb's service (Should free up the IS network) and then I am jumping. I had an IS account for a reason.

Guys I can highly recommend going for a payed News Server.
I'm with gibinews at 3.5Euro per month (thats under R40 per month) I download 24/7 at full line speed.
