Weird stats on my 4mbps uncapped line today (PE). Speedtest varies wildly between 1.2 and 3.4mbps - averaging around 1.5.

Rebooted router etc. same thing. Line stats are normal as any other day.

Anyone else having similar issue?

Ok, similar here - the download stats differ every time although upload stays consistent, and server keeps changing..:

Hi Afriman,

All is still good with my account. except the ping!

when i first got the account, my ping was stable at 9, then it gradually went up and now it is hovering around 25-35ms...

I get 5/6 from my saix account to the same servers, so definitely not my line.

Any suggestions?

I'm starting to get worried with everyone complaining about the slow speeds. Could it be that there are too many users?? I'm getting the uncapped 10mb account on the 1st of August. I hope I will still get the 8mb/s average download speeds that I got with Telkom.

I've had zero complaints and full 10mbit speeds until yesterday, when speed started fluctuating wildly. I'm giving AH the benefit of the doubt and assuming it's a network problem (as so many users seem unaffected) rather than over-subscription, and hoping they sort it out quickly.

Pretty slow today on 4MB. Switched to Voda HSDPA so I can get my Mountain Lion upgrade finished.. it's been 6 hours so far :)

We're looking into this to see if it's a general issue. We're also making adjustments on our network to optimise usage in case we haven't made enough provision for all users on uncapped.

Please monitor this through today and over the weekend, but the changes should be implemented by this evening.

I'm chuffed so far. Most I've downloaded yet :o

How long would it take to migrate my Telkom 1mb line to an Afrihost 4mb line? Thinking of changing from 1mb Mweb to 4mb Afrihost

Took about 3 days for the line to be migrated for me,account was ready instantly

You will need to get your line back to Telkom before Afrihost can take ownership of it...

so you are looking at about 15-20 working days...

Have had the 4Mb uncapped account for about half a month now and must say I'm quite happy so far. There was only the one hiccup when there were network issues but since then I have had any troubles. Speeds look a bit on the slow side during business hours, but I'm at work then anyway and for the price it can be expected. I am very happy with the overall Youtube performance which has been really smooth the entire time.

I have done about 120GB so far and haven't had any death throttle yet, so I'm happy. Hope it remains like this (or gets better).

Afriman - any news on an all inclusive 2mb account? Also, how good are pings to the UK/Europe compared to Mweb?

I get around 225-300 ping on EU server on D3 depending on the time of day. Mostly below 300, I am on 4mb uncapped.
