Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I hope Afrihost considers lowering their 2mbps Uncapped bundled price, considering that Telkom is now cheaper. If Afrihost doesn't show a massive improvement next month or a price drop, I will most likely move over to Telkom. Speeds during the day for non surfing text based websites are terrible. Only time I can use my line speed maxed is from 2 AM. Even Telkom's current throttled speeds are better than what I get during the day with Afrihost.

But will see what happens next month.

We're reviewing our pricing, though we still feel our pricing (which was launched mid-2012) is still competitive. I'm sure we'll find a way to blow the competition away :)

I'm honestly not sure what text-based non-surfing refers to? Can you help me there?

No line speed issues to report,I am however seeing horrendous pings in Planetside just about every evening after 9. Not a trainsmash but it is screwing my K/D ratio :P

I told AfriMan that I want to sign up as well. With the "test" account he helped me with, I didn't have any problems, so I will see how it goes with the uncapped account. :)

4meg uncapped this is my speed.

Uncapped account shows speeds no higher than 11kBps on all protocols (browsing/Youtube is fine). Been like this for a while. Switched to an Afrihost capped account and speeds shot up to line speed:

The gap is the space where I switched between uncapped and capped.

I hope some one can clarify this one month rolling period linked to Cancellations for me. I cancelled my Afrihost bundle on the 22nd. As I was told, my debit order on 1st of January paid for this months usage. However, does the one month cancellation mean another debit order will go off on 1st of Feb and only then my account is cancelled?

No one has phoned me as yet, but I did see that AfriMan logged a call for me. Regardless, I was able to do things myself on their website. Maybe the call center was giving me time to see this. ;)

Anyway, my first speedtest (same as the test account)

If you cancelled on the 22nd (which was before this month's billing run) you should not be billed again. Feb, being a shorter month, may work slightly differently.

If you've been invoiced please PM me so I can look into it

Thanks for clearing that up AfriMan. If needed I will do so. :)

I'm normally very patient and have been since moving over in December but this is getting ridiculous. For the past 5 or so days I've been struggling to even stream a 240p Youtube video and right now even an HP driver download is being throttled to 100kb/s with a max speed of 115kb/s.

This is on a 10mbps business uncapped account as well. I'm starting to regret moving from Mweb... Is this purely from a lack of IPC in Cape Town? I haven't even used an excessive amount of bandwidth this month. I find it strange that the Afrihost site is nice and speedy but everything else is shockingly slow. Speedtest also seems to get priority over everything else as that always shows a healthy speed. Had to download a 100mb of emails this morning on a new PC and that took close to an hour.

Please help AfriMan.

MTN seem to be having issues on the international link...?
