Man and huskystarcraft just uploaded a new vid wanted to watch it but no international.

Best thing about mybb you get a faster update on the network here than on the isp sites.

Streaming big bang theory smoothly, steam running, torrent going (tpb-afk is out)

Alls well

As i have no idea how news servers work, nntp is not something I rely on. Though at least the services I use seem to be normal

It's past midnight and I am getting 12KB/s off news server on a 2mbps line???

edit: Changed to torrents and they seem to be running full steam ahead as of 00:30 or so. Rest of the day the speeds were pathetic. Are weekend daylight hours considered peak hours???

edit2: And now we're down to 0.00 KB/s for nntp...

We had a very brief international outage last night, corresponds with the posts here. Apparently there was an issue with traffic routed via London. We reported the issue just before 11pm which was acknowledged and resolved by MTN around midnight last night. The issue would affected overseas services, or access to international servers, but also affected latency on the network in general. Services should have returned normal at 12, and should be so now.

Can anyone confirm that things are A-OK?

Why was your site not updated? I've checked and it said "Network fully operational"

Once again we were in the dark.....

The issue was acknowledged and resolved well within an hour. With it being such a late hour, it was not possible to update the website or SMS clients. HAd the impact and downtime been more severe, we would have done so.

Having problems here on a capped account.
Slow speeds and pages timing out.

It was severe, there IS plenty of "what's up doc" here even a "don't bother asking Afrihost support just look here" The SMS route would have been over the top but the "network status" could have been changed. It should not be too much trouble to change the "network status"

It actually tee's me off when I see nntp news from Astraweb crawling along at 6KBs and the staus page sayig all is normal!

+1. Email us or maybe open a thread here where we can subscribe to being notified of posts informing when there are network problems!

It would be very sad indeed, let's hope it doesn't come to that. I've given this straight to our special ops team, and they should get back to you today, once they've done a little digging into the issues you've reported.

So, AfriMan,
WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO TO RECEIVE A HUMAN REPLY to:

Ticket ID: AFB-721-51846
Subject: ADSL line choppy performance..again
Department: Afrihost - ADSL Support

It would seem that "the special ops" team choose to ignore the request.
I'm getting REALLY GATVOL with this nonsense.

I have received NO phone calls or emails from ANY support member,
BUT
I have have received an SMS stating:
"You currently interacted with Murendeni from Afrihost. Please rate our service...."
needless to say I didn't bother with "0-9"

I need this line fixed properly!
TM
