The throttle works on a rolling window total, so if you take a look at your bandwidth usage graph and then hit the comparison option, it give you this month compared to the previous month. As your 30 day window moves, the first day falls off, and the current day is added on (am I making sense?), so you'll need to ensure that usage that is now falling off exceeds current usage, so that your rolling total is getting lower. As soon as it falls below the threshold again, you will be unthrottled, and you would then need to monitor your usage to make sure it stays below. Best to curb your usage as much as possible, the lower you get your rolling total, the more GB's before throttle you'll have for when you really need it - for the "must have" linux distro :)

can you please try an implement a 30 day rolling total amount in the client zone :) so i dont have to sit there trying to calculate :)

I don't know if I can promise that, but it's definitely something I have suggested in the future. I am also hoping that one day we can introduce some type of throttle management options, but this will be more viable when we change networks.

That's better than what I'm getting! http://www.speedtest.net/result/2129828152.png. But I don't see how these are even accurate. I'm struggling to open plain websites! Seriously, for that R100 extra mweb is so much better. Gawds this was a bad decision to move to Afrihost. I'm frustrated beyond belief. Can't get any work done!

I got the same problem, 50% line speed and logged in an issue with support todayt. One answer I got back was something to do with contention ratios. Not good enough for me, so jumping ship (wish I didn't bundle my line now).

Think I'm gonna give the MWEB 2MB uncapped a go.. seeing as though that's pretty much the average speed of what I get out of my 4MB uncapped, will wait for the MTN move to see how Afri goes.

We'll be making the full announcement at 11am today on how Telkom Upgrades will affect Afrihost Clients.

Will be awesome, hope you guys will be watching for this sweet announcement :)

No no no....don't tell me that. I've sent through my cancellation to Mweb and going to be moving to ah. If I get pings like that I'm going to be pissed!

Bundle pricing:

1Mbps = R297pm
2Mbps = R497pm
4Mbps = R697pm
10Mbps = R897pm

so if we are currently on 1mb .... when does the new pricing kick in?? do we get informed that we have been moved up to a 2mb line?? and does our isp account get automatically converted to a 2mb account as well??
