How long should a line upgrade take?
it should ideally take between 3- 5 days, it all depends on available techs in the area and ports on the exchange.

How long should a line upgrade take?
I requested a line upgrade with Afrihost almost 2 weeks ago....and still waiting......

I'm getting a bit frustrated with this account tbh..
I don't think even Telkom can upgrade you instantly. They have to assign a technician who has to move you from one port card to another, depending on whether there are slots available.
If you're talking about syncing at a higher rate on the same product (i..e Fastest DSL) then we can also do so instantly. If that's what you've requested it shouldn't take that long at all. Either way, drop me a PM, and let's find out what's going on![]()
I upgraded at Telkom from 1mb to 2mb to 4mb in 1 week and each time it was upgraded 5-30 mins later.![]()
Telkom say 48 hours, actual 12 hours (Thursday lunch time to Friday morning) They sms'd me Monday to say job done.
Funny how Telkom don't like using a Landline ................
How does Afrihost Uncapped perform during the day?
How does Afrihost Uncapped perform during the day?
HEY!!!!! Don't pick on me, I have no problems at all, I am as happy as a pig in **** using AH Business.
The only time I report here is if there is an all round general error/outage for comparison, and fault finding for others.
But generally my ADSL runs perfect since my exchange port was swapped about 3 months ago.
Haha, ill just keep my big mouth shut now...![]()
Hey Afriman.
I just have a question about how your 'Test my line' works.
It states I have 25.5db attenuation at "ADSL Router Results (Your Location)", but 41db Attentuation at "DSLAM Results (Telkom Exchange)".
My router states my attenuation is 41db which is in line with the "DSLAM Results (Telkom Exchange)" reading.
I checked my neighbors ADSL Attenuation and they also have it in line with the "DSLAM Results (Telkom Exchange)" reading (41db).
Does the 2x higher "DSLAM Results (Telkom Exchange)" reading mean that something is wrong in the last few meters of my line, or is this a normal reading?
Thanks.

20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

Hi Everyone, quick question. What are your usual sync rates for your 10Meg line?
I know this is probably noob, but surely (if you ignore exchange overheads etc) the line should sync at 10240? Mine sync's at 10015, does everyone else's do the same?
