Well spotted, I'm willing to wait another week since afrihost say their upgrades will come at the end of next week, after that
I'll have to consider downgrading from 4mb or just move isp.

Having pretty ****ty experience with streaming YouTube for over a week now.

Used to stream perferct HD on my phone :/

Only did 24gb for the month as well..

Not impressed!

This is my speed :).....

Same problem with YouTube my side. I still believe Afrihost should reduce customer invoices this month. This is where we need stand together and be heard.

Why should we still have to pay full price for quarter the product? As I've mentioned before this is no different to paying for a full tank of petrol and only receiving a quarter tank.

Afrihost I'm sure you can claim any losses on discounts passed from IS?

Let's see how many users agree with this.

IS have confirmed that the IPC upgrade is complete in Cape Town, and the JHB IPC is pending. It's possible that general speeds could improve across the network, but it's a little too early to tell with most business users being offline. We've been assured that once the JHB IPC is fully upgraded, the ADSL network will return to full performance.

Thanks to our loyal clients for the patience and understanding, we know that this has been a difficult period. It's not quite over yet, but that light at the end of the tunnel is looking a lot closer!

Afriman Out :)

AfriMan ftw

Seems fixed. 4Mb uncapped:

Test Date: Sep 28, 2012 11:19:49 pm
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Cape Town
Download: 3.33 Mbps
Upload: 0.66 Mbps
Ping: 19 ms

Getting 2x the promised speeds on Steam d/ls atm. Pretty cool.

@AH: Any chance of some specials that are permanently discounted, not just for a month or 2? :D

10Mbps line, they are throttling the SH*t out of it, around midnight the throttling stops I notice.

This on my FNB backup account few minutes later.

Come midnight and the speed improved, but in fact I noticed it improved earlier in the evening already.
I noticed Afriman said Cape Town IPC upgrade has been complete, but Monday will reveal the truth.

For those posting speedtests:

Speed goes max's after 11:00PM to about 5:00AM the last couple of days so it doesn't mean Joburg is fixed. The day time is when there is a problem
Will wait for Afriman to confirm when it is fixed.

Mine seems fixed also. New here but i must note that i registered to come bitch about it here and cancel. Afrihost you are on a 1month probation lol

Hi Guys ,just checked now ,done 159 gb on 2mb so far .so it is not everybody that was effected.

Speed test looks fine.

Cape Town

AH have proven themselves to be the most mendacious ISP out there. I will never believe a word they say ever again. Oh, and cancelled...
