Still network problems but it's getting better

Edit: Afriman, any news on the JHB IPC upgrade?

going to submit cancellation request first thing tomorrow morning due bad service and bad support.
afrihost is falling apart.
nothing left of the outstanding service I got from them when signing up over a year ago.
so sad.

AfriMan - are you sure they upgraded the IPC to Cape Town?
I am also still only getting half speed and its already 18:00!
4mb/s - Port Elizabeth

You can cancel from the clientzone. Love this client portal, just wish the internet quality was of the same standard.

Mine was up to speed again when I got home from work

Speed went up after 18:00 but now at 19:20 latency went up again and speed dropped down 4mb/s connection is useless. :-(
Definitely a "Weekender Uncapped" account and not Uncapped.

IS have confirmed that IPC upgrades are now fully complete (including JHB) so network speeds should finally be back to normal. There could be some adjustments made as they re-establish normal routing and latencies. We expect everything will have improved already, and back to optimal performance by tomorrow (let's hope)

Will keep everyone informed as we get there. Again, a big thanks to loyal clients who stuck it out, and apologies to all. We totally respect the decision of those who decided to call it quits, but we hope you'll give us another try once we're on MTN. Will hopefully start posting some results here so you can decide if it's something that will interest you.

Afriman out :)

I'm seeing significant improvement on 1 meg line. Still a wee bit to go though.

Well, No improvement this side :(

Speed is not everything, that is why I have a capped account, for gaming, but with pings this bad, I have not been able to play for 2 weeks now :(

Upgrade didnt work :-(

Okay line seems okay, but getting nothing more then 1mb. Can you please explain to me why I am still throttled? As for we had like in ****ty interwebz, for 2 weeks and I barely downloaded? Please explain and, if I am throttled, then cancel my acc asap and I want double my money back then please.. This is my worst ISP by far, and this is only the beginning of my month and a half here!!! The 3 Clients I showed to your doorway, I think we shall move as-well if this keeps up. I lost Huge Amount of Money cause of the network problem. That only seems to has effected some guys.... I am now utterly gatvol really.....

50kb/s on 2048 uncapped in Cape Town (Tamboerskloof).

Seriously, 50kb/s on 2048? Am I beign shaped to death or is this because the problem has not been fixed?

Just upgraded to Afrihost 1Mbs uncapped (bundled) after sorting out the line upgrade with Telkom
this morning and now:

http://speedtest.net/result/2214863019.png

Some details if they help:

Downstream Upstream
Current Rate(Kbps) 1024 512
Max Rate(Kbps) 10172 1036
Noise Margin(dB) 28.4 12
Attenuation(dB) 27.5 13.5

What's going on? Been slow the past couple of days (IS issues I guess) but this is ridiculous surely?

which areas seem to be more affected by problems. or is it seemingly random?

edit - for those where the service seems to work on a 4mbps line, what are nntp speeds like between:

06:00 - 18:00
18:00 - 06:00

you don't have to take the times literally as i think most can see what my question relates to.

Recently my line has been disconnecting and I would have to reboot my router to get it working again. The router shows a red light and after reboot it shows green and works fine. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem or could it be a router fault?
