Maybe its changes made by Afrihost and I am getting resynched for changes to take effect?
I am in cpt where we usually have ipc issues,

Nah. Your line sync is between you and your exchange. Routing and IPC changes won't cause that to drop...? Do you have anything else connected to the line? Alarm systems, etc?

Does Afrihost resync our lines on their own?
Looses connection, ips etc and connects again after a minute to 2.
I notice it does happen frequently. Latest which I physically saw was last night at 8.05pm, today at 7.05 and again at 7.21pm

We don't generally touch your line sync, unless you ask us to reset the port on your line or you run Fix My Line (if your line is managed by us). You can always run Fix My Line to get back to maximum sync that your line can achieve.

Wow, totally chuffed to read this:

Thanks for all the support guys. Just know that this inspires us to work harder (and smarter) and make sure that we never take our client's support and loyalty for granted. I think as much as this is an accolade for us, it's also a testament to the faith our clients have shown in us in light of recent problems, and that is something we are truly grateful for (and will work really hard to do justice to).

I'm pretty sure Gian will be buying donuts tomorrow :)

Well, I'd rather be with an ISP that has the right attitude but some network issues that will probably be resolved, than an ISP with little to no network issues but an attitude that stinks.

^ this

AH is probably one of the companies I often deal with (insert Afriman nod in here) that at least try to help when I have a complaint.

Would Afrihost care if someone ran a VPN on one of their business accounts? It's a businessy thing to do, and abuse is curtailed with throttling, which doesn't care for the methods used.

As an ancillary to this, what is Afrihost's general position on VPNs? I'm considering signing up for a VPN service, but not with the intention of circumventing shaping policies or doing anything any more taxing on the line than what I have in the past. Is the issue connecting to a VPN - I can't see how it can be - or running near line speed for extended periods via a VPN?

I got a response from Afrihost in my Clientzone. They said VPN's are perfectly fine. I'm on a business account. Normal uncapped wouldn't be okay, as they specifically said that they don't prioritise any part of my connection anyway.

We don't mind VPN's per se, as long as it in line with our AUP, we pretty much OK with whatever you do with your bandwidth (legally) :)
