Also check the Seed/Peer ratio. It can sometimes be low if the torrent is new and this means that the torrent has contention and you have to share the available torrent bandwidth with the other leechers.

There's not an magical ratio that will tell you that you'll download at line speed but a number below 1 will tell you that you are sharing bandwidth therefore it's highly probable that it's the torrent(s) and not line contention that's causing the problem.

Since the network is 100% now please look into why I am still getting latency on League of Legends over 260ms even though it should be around 220ms according to speedtest.
 
Internet basically unusable in cape town. 25 percent download speed and 6.5% torrent throttle.
This is ridiculous.

From our tests all systems are running as before. Gaming latencies from our testing and latency reports should be back to what they were before EASSy went down. Drop me a PM and I'll get our guys to contact you and run some more tests.

Are you getting slow browsing and real time speeds? If so then there may be other issues. This should only affect downloads and file sharing, as per the shaping policy. If the internet is unusable, as in you can't browse or stream, etc, then we'll need to look into this and run some tests :(

Unusable meaning that I would like to download a series but that's impossible

Same here.....Is Afrihost networks this over subscribed? We will overload our networks to maximize profits at the expense of our clients(Shaping policy)? 25% throttle on Downloads and 6.5% P2P? Can we be told the reason for this excessive throttling?

On the bright side this seems to be happening on Mweb accounts as well so maybe we should put away the pitchforks away for the time being and see what happens.
 
Also had a wierd thing, my torrents and downloads were on 50% shaping for both of them.

Checked on Monday night and ran the turbo charge for 1 hour and since then i have no shaping :P
 
Also saw that the eassy cable is finally fully operational according to your network status on the website :P
