I did 85gigs on 2mb in CT( strand area) Did most of my gigs on the weekend though. 32 gigs on a 4mb? You should have been allowed at least 125 gigs minimum
majority of my usage is streaming (netflix), very little of it p2p.

I have only done 6.55 GB this month on my one meg line and have been shaped to 50% for 5 entire days!
I'm only on 32.5GB this month using my 4MB uncapped and my download shaping is 50% at the moment, yesterday it hit 75% once or twice, would that not suggest that the CPT IPC needs a bit of an upgrade?

Anyone else experiencing slow speeds in the Cape Town Southern surburbs area?
I am on a 10mb uncapped account. Shaping Policy: 12.5% Download/ 6.25% P2P
Speedtest is 1.2mbs download. Is this right or something is wrong?
As I've said before, there is no threshold on bandwidth usage that determines shaping, it all capacity driven. If there is capacity, we're happy for everyone to have no shaping. Once there is an increase in demand, we apply shaping policies based on usage patterns and other factors. We try to shape as few clients, to the smallest degree possible, so that general performance is not affected, but due to fact that it's mostly torrents and P2P using the bandwidth, it makes sense that we shape those protocols only.
Also remember that you have 5 FREE Turbocharges per month, so you can always bypass shaping when you need to![]()
5 FREE Turbocharges per month? How do we get those?

Well I'm also having latency issues in the CT area (Uncapped 1meg), since Monday afternoon. I've looked for any known causes but there don't seem to be any. Just hoping it comes right soon, this is pretty much a repeat of a few weeks back. Don't think it's on Afrihost's end, as switching to another ISP did not resolve the issue.
Test conducted on 5/15/2013 9:32:55 AM
Download Speed: 563 kbps (70.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 433 kbps (54.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 339 ms
On 4MB uncapped. Naaaice! Should I ask how this is possible?
What area are you in? Drop me a PM and we'll take a look. A trace route will also help to see where the latency is being introduced.
Turbo-Charge not working today? every time I try to activate it says "an error occurred"
