Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

General speed just went down the drain again - not even downloading, everything. Sent your support guys tests on 3 different accounts to show its your network, not my line for the Nth time. Hopefully something comes of it this time. The cycle of "Please send us these test results > Thanks we'll look into it > silence > oh we're glad it happened to go away by itself, let us know if it recurs > problem recurs > Please send us these test results > Rinse repeat" doesn't appeal to me.

I don't mind downloads being shaped during the day as I do most of mine at night, but when I cannot work from home during the day because speeds are so erratic, it's too much. First 2 months on the service were very positive, but I'm on the threshold of cancelling at the end of this one at this point.

Afriman, so when you launching your 2mb packages (all inclusive).
Putting off until i see whats being offered by everyone. Your 4mb all inclusive package looks real good value for money & i dont really do more than 200-300GB / month sometimes even less.

Very, VERY, soon ... will be announcing some things that will rock your socks :)

for the last 3 days I have also been unhappy with my speed. Day or night does not matter.
Im on the 10meg uncaped only used 89Gig for the month.

I'm sorry to hear this, the last report I had from when we chatted on PM was that things had improved. Please give us some time to look into the issue, so that we can resolve it. I also apologise if it feels like we're playing ping pong with your support requests, we really are dedicated to helping out clients with their problems, and it doesn't seem to have come through in this instance. NOt our finest hour at all.

Please send me a PM with some details, so I can escalate this and assign someone to help you ASAP.

Thanks for letting us know about this, please send me a PM with your username so we can take a look at what might be causing this.

Must be horrible, really sorry about that :(

Looks like the same I'm currently experiencing: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2093289585.png (10mb uncapped)

Don't understand how it's not possible to locate the problem, as clearly there is a network issue. If it's an IS issue and you need to wait for them to investigate it, it would be good to know.

Things had improved when we last spoke, the problem is that is keeps recurring. When it happens, I run the tests and collate all the data, send it through, then 24 hours later I'll get a support reply, at which point the problem may already have subsided and is not immediately obvious to someone looking at it only then.

Thanks AfriMan. PM Sent.

I have another 2 accounts, Telkom and Openweb afterhours uncapped (Cancelled for Afrihost) that i dont experiance this with.

Regards.
W.

Also having major problems on Afrihost but WA is flying.Only 2 days on this service and very disappointed so far.
Afriman I have sent you a PM with speedtest and tracerts.

Seems peeps in the cape are having problems. It'll be interesting to see what feedback comes from all those who will sign up in the next week using the 80% off special.

Mweb jumpers will also generate a huge influx of feedback.

Try during office hours - that's when my stats die a horrible death. After hours it's fine.

I work from home every day, havent noticed any issues though I don't really watch any downloads during the day, mainly just stream music which always goes fine - but I will test again tomorrow during office hours

The funny thing is (I also work from home some days) is that I don't actually notice the slowdowns, although I don't actually download anything (email, webex, web only). Notice it when my Ipad does an update though, but I just check speedtest to see the degrade.

I use my line quite extensively throughout the day so i'll certainly report any issues if i have any. I'm sure with feedback they will iron out all the kinks over time.

google sites are loading slow as hell tonight for some reason, downloading an attachment off gmail at 7kb/sec. everything else seems fine.

Mine also slow tonight. I'm in Cape Town area too. Maybe throttling? Done about 155gb this month on 4mbit line, is that throttle territory?

After hours shmafter hours. 22h45 and I'm getting 270k/sec on NNTP. 10mbps uncapped and most definitely nowhere near the 30 day window limit.

Extremely unimpressed.

Lol, I bet it was all the capped users trying to blast that cap at the eleventh hour.... Ah, distant memories... Lol
