Yeah. I cancelled the start of the month and my account will expire 23:59 on the last day of the month.

Afrihost should rename the "uncapped" to Uncapped Weekender :-) seeing as that is the only time we get great speeds!

And I do not think it is Afrihost's fault - I think it is IS and if it is, then the ISPs should stand together and threaten them legally.
The ISPs are taking the brunt of the complaints - IS does not give a fiddle....

Maybe.......Maybe not .
By the end of the day my agreement is with Afrihost not with IS . If Afrihost are unable to deliver the service due to IS actions they should say so and act to rectify the situation .

And it seems some ijit's trying to hack my wifi AP as well :mad: Have taken some steps to migitate this. Irritating.

Afrihost must make plans to get off the IS backbone. IS is doing their reputation more harm than good. If this goes on, their loyal clients will switch over to Mweb.

Unable to stream videos due to the magnificient throttling going on :mad:

Am I the only one still stuck with cruddy speeds?

Current Download Rate: 22KB/s
Peak Download Rate: 52KB/s

Download from Microsoft:
9KB/s
20 minutes ETA on a 12MB file

YouTube:
Buffers all the time. I have to DOWNLOAD the videos with a download manager to watch them

Torrents:
5 well seeded torrents are going at a grand total of 30KBps

Just switched over to my free 1GB capped AH account to try and download a FreeBSD ISO quicker (was getting 200KB/s max on my uncapped) and looks like this account is throttled to 50KB/s :wtf:

This is off a local ftp site. Really don't want to have the hassle of cancelling so I hope things improve in the next 7 days.
 
Running a few comparative speed tests.

Cybersmart capped bandwidth:



Afrihost 1GB capped bandwidth (free account offer):



Afrihost 4MBit Uncapped:




As you can see that free bandwidth AH is practically useless, which is where you think they would limit bandwidth first however what happens if I topped up that account?

Well Guys i see a few unhappy customers here, where is MR Afriman? Should he not reply here? Okay well i was referred to Afrihost about a month and a half okay, so basically last week i was throttled to a 1,2mb acc from a 4mb, cause i have done more then my usage { Do not know what Size they start Throttling }. Okay any how i download in the evenings, what i have heard from Afrihost was so great. Actually i thought nha okay so i will be throttled to that speed just for new month to begin....But was i so wrong? You see i Download and Update pc's a hell of a lot, so my usage would go everyday up down up. SO basically i always be Throttled? Looks to me that i think i am gonna cancel, especially now that i can not even Stream Youtube this past 5 day's........Have a Great day guys... Anyway is you network status yellow as-well for the past 4 days?
