Well Guys i see a few unhappy customers here, where is MR Afriman? Should he not reply here? Okay well i was referred to Afrihost about a month and a half okay, so basically last week i was throttled to a 1,2mb acc from a 4mb, cause i have done more then my usage { Do not know what Size they start Throttling }. Okay any how i download in the evenings, what i have heard from Afrihost was so great. Actually i thought nha okay so i will be throttled to that speed just for new month to begin....But was i so wrong? You see i Download and Update pc's a hell of a lot, so my usage would go everyday up down up. SO basically i always be Throttled? Looks to me that i think i am gonna cancel, especially now that i can not even Stream Youtube this past 5 day's........Have a Great day guys... Anyway is you network status yellow as-well for the past 4 days?

Hi Pieter, have a look at the thread's history, AfriMan did comment, and as far as I know its been a long weekend and I am sure you do not expect him to work on a weekend?

MWEB GUY is on (a team or a person) . I guess you get what you paid for :)

I have always received good service from Afrihost, and have rated them highly in the past. But I must say this past week they've been dropping the ball completely... and I really feel it's going to hurt them.

I know outages happen with upstream providers etc. etc. etc. That is normal and I understand that completely. However, I feel they have not tried to keep their customers updated with what is going on. Simply putting "Slow adsl and latency on the network" on the main page, three days after people started complaining, and then leaving it like that for almost five days now is ridiculous. It might be because it is such a major issue, that they are afraid of a mass exodus of customers. Or it might just be that they don't care (which I doubt...).

Luckiliy Afriman has been giving some updates, but he can only do so much so appease the customers. I hope for them (and because my speeds still suck) that it is sorted very, very soon.

Well said! Afrihost some feedback would be greatly appreciated

So has their upstream provider dropped the ball or is this fitfulnesses from them because Afrihost is going to another upstream provider or is this because Afrihost already switch to the new upstream provider and the service now went for a ball of pooh because of it.

They said they were going with MTNNS whom I'm yet to see perform admirably.

This weekend was back to normal with the exception that my ping has been marginally higher than normal.

However this morning very heavy shaping is in operation. UseNet on port 80 is being cut down within 15 seconds to nothing. Reducing the number of connections allows a trickle to come through at about 1 mbps
