Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I feel the ISP's don't have a f%#£ing clue what is going on with Internet.

1. This has been going on for about two weeks now.
2. Some ISP's then used iPhone 5 launch and iOS 6 update as an excuse.
3. It took Afrihost like a week to mention the fault on their website. Which was only posted because of everyone complaining in this forum
4. The complete lack of communication regarding the fault.
5. They are loosing customers & more are becoming frustrated daily and there still seems to be a lack of urgency.

Sure you guys have pushed the blame to Telkom but surely it doesn't take two weeks to sort this out! The fact that you are loosing business because of this you should be on Telkom's back 24/7 and giving regular updates to customers.

Look these things happen from time to time and I'm sure everyone understands, but people deserve to get compensated for this. Normally these faults get sorted our within 24-48 hours but this has been going on too long. R697 is a lot of cash for quarter speeds for half the month!

This is no different than paying for a full tank of petrol and only getting a quarter tank.

Sorry Afriman I know this is not your fault but even you seem to be ducking & diving this forum lately. Not sure if you are an individual or support team on this forum but at a time like this you should be more active than ever.

Rock Solid, Reliable Network
Afrihost servers are located at the state-of-the-art IS Data Centres in Bryanston. Our ADSL Network has fibre backhaul and operates via SEACOM and SAT-3......

Thought some of you might find some humor in this:D

steam last night downloaded updates at speeds of 1byte/s to 10KBps and im on your 10mbps account, totally unacceptable.
Next month is my last month then I will move back to reliable mweb. Afrihost should refund us for these weeks of pathetic service.

/end of rant

Hey Afrihost, when do you think I will be able to get my full 4meg line download speed again....I am appreciative that I am no longer at .3megs, but I am paying for 4meg uncapped and only getting maxed 1.5megs...- Thanks in advance, me!

17kB/s download on a 1Mbps account today.

BTW, Afrihost give speedtest.net priority, so even if you're throttled, you will still get speedtest.net claiming full speed.

Hi Guys

We are still listening and following up on your feedback. As someone mentioned, it was largely due to the posts on this forum that we realised the seriousness of this issue, and it is being dealt with at the very highest levels of our company.

When we have something concrete to report, I promise you guys will be the first to know.

hi there, long time no rage, havent cancelled my account yet...
my ticket was logged on the 7th already, will I get some discount / credit on the next billing cycle at least for this issue everyone is experiencing ?

That decision is above my pay-grade, but I can certainly pass your request up the chain of command. Send me a DM and I'll see what I can do :)

It's bad to hear all the issues people are having, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

I'm on 4mb uncapped and was starting to think i might have been severely throttled. Glad its not the case:) Been with Afrihost almost a month now and even though the speed has been bad, they were excellent all the other days.
