Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Tonight I'm experiencing weird lags on my test MTN account. I'm playing a game and using VoIP at the same time, but otherwise the line is idle (no downloads, no nothing) and I regularly get 'blackouts' where the game stops and VoIP falls out that have a duration of 0.5 to 1 second.
 
For the first time, I have tried to sign into the Playstation Network on a PS3 with the MTN account today, and the connection times out. I am not able to sign into the Network :-( - I think it is a similar situation to the XBox Live sign in issue....

It looks like a gaming policy. I can't access Steam or Origin games whilst on the MTN network (PC)
 
Thanks Roadcat. I hope they fix it quickly, because, come Tuesday and we dont have a connection to any of the gaming servers, I will start questioning my loyalty to Afrihost. :-(

Agreed, Afihost MUST FIX Gaming policies on MTN, I cant connect to CoD at all, and also XFire is not connecting, have been complaining about this for like 3 days now and nothing is happening, I even PM'ed Afriman but NOTHING!!!

It's a show-stopper for my son as well.

Mtn network not working for online games but your normal IS account will work fine, just use that till they fix it. Played battlefield 3 PS3 with no issues last night on IS
 
I know you guys are getting varying results and this might be in part to us varying the priority to get the best blend of quality of service. Just remember that if you are using other services, like Voip, FTP or SSH, there could be competition for priority, so best to run clean tests on one service at a time.

I should be up to date on PM responses now, please keep sending me info (with your username otherwise I really can't do much) so that we can keep fine tuning till we get it right.

So MTN network has a problem with 196.xxx ip addresses
 
Thank you Afriman, I can now play CoD on the MTN trail account and XFire can connect.

Better start getting MWEB application form ready.

I have ADSL for gaming. Lately my iPhone has better latency than my ADSL.

If this continues, bye bye Afrihost...

I'm getting 0.13 Mb/sec to USA right now on MWEB. 4Mbit line. Then again I get similar speed with WebAfrica trial too.
