I see i have been moved to MTN from today, i have also received my best speeds up until now, hope this speed is going to be permanent :D

HTTP downloads and youtube viewing is using the full line speed. Much better than was one the MTN test accounts which I found up and down.
Still will have to see when throttling will kick in if at all and will only be able to report on that after a couple of days.

@kripstoe
Due to the change in DNS settings from the ISP, it is a good idea to flush your dns settings.
From the command prompt enter "ipconfig /flushdns" then "ipconfig /registerdns'. Rebooting the router and your system will also help.

On uncapped 4Mb:
Gaming on battle.net (sc2) was perfect now. Streaming 720p from twitch.tv also doable now (while downloading at 50Kbps). So far so good. More positives than negatives overall. Good going Afri-team

Hi

Getting very bad speeds since last week was hoping the new network would sort it out.
Currently on 10 mb uncapped.

Maybe I should change to a 1 mb package

Don't just always complain and assume the worst! Read the forums, diagnose the problem before you complain!

*Have you rebooted your router?
*Have you rebooted your system?
*Have you tried another account?

Do some research and try and fix it yourself before complaining and looking for alternative options!

Was one of the first things I did. :) Tried on two different machines. Will give it a day or two.

No need to run /registerdns, it updates your PC's IP to your DNS server, so unless you have your own local DNS server and your PC's local IP changed it won't do anything.

Hey Guys

I see a lot of positive feedback on the new network, but also a lot of adjustments to be made. Please bear with us, this is a brand new network being set up literally from scratch, there are going to be unforseen issues which we will look into immediately.

By far this biggest issue I am noticing is high pings, and latency for Cape Town users. We know there is an issue there, and as I explained, MTN has IPC in Cape Town, we're just trying to get things settled in a controlled environment close to home before we engage that. Emails and phone calls are flying around here at AfriHQ to look at how quickly we can do this, so I am personally confident that it will be fairly soon.

I was replying to your PM's last night until my router decided to die! He was a good router, but that last Linux distro just took it's toll :(

Will get to all your messages during the course of the day :)

My connection was ok last night, but pings were not great in CS, in fact terrible. Anywhere up to 130 at some points.

On a lighter note, speedtest for the first time reported my down speed at 4.01 MB/S. Never seen that before on my line.

Glad to hear there will be CT IPC - thanks Afriman!

My only issue is that your lack of control over your previous IS network meant I could push 5mb on a 4mb account because of my 10mb line... :p Not any more! I guess its fair enough.

Overall pleased with the new speeds, which are rock solid. I will be staying next month.
