Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I used to be with Afrihost and am looking to come back. I just want to know what the average download total per month is on a 1mb line without breaking any AUP policies etc. etc.

We been here only a couple of days ......... I asked the same question a bit diffrently and didn't get any answers. Umm wait a month?
 
Hey guys

We are also moving ALL @is.afrihost Uncapped clients onto MTN, which will be happening by the end of the week. Mailers will be issued, but I thought you might as well hear it from me. We know for some it's the proverbial uppercut to the scrotum, but we need to get all these issues worked out so that the network is working for everyone.

No mailers! Moved already against my will! Long story .........
 
Wanted to say it was odd that I didn't get any SickBeard notifications when I woke up this morning.

AfriMan, can you please let us know what is being done (if anything) about the current Diablo 3 problem. As you would have seen, more than a handful of users are also reporting that it is unplayable since moving to MTN.
 
@AfriMan Is there an eta on the cpt IPC? Months? Years? I don't expect exact date.

We are pushing this from the highest levels, I can't give an ETA but we are aiming for this ASAP. I just don't want to give a date that we end up missing. Honestly it won't be days, but I'm hoping that week(s) rather than months will be the case. I really can't give a firm commitment, but things are being negotiated and pursued to sort this out.

We are looking into this and trying to isolate the problem. It's strange though, I can log on and play with no issues - I'm running on a normal ADSL account. This while still gaming on Fifa 13 and running youtube on a 4Mbps line at home.
The network is definitely capable, so we need to find out what the issues are that are causing this for certain users. I know it sucks, but we are giving this high priority!

Ja but I think the issue that everyone seems to be missing ie Afrihost ;) is that the latency problems are worst for people not in JHB. Just because D3 & other online games runs great in Rivonia :) doesn't necessarily mean its running great in CT or the rest of the Western Cape. That is why almost everyone asking for local IPC are people in CT or Western Cape. Its pretty crap trying to game with latency increase of about 20 - 100ms.
 
I'm having issues in joburg. Its not related to IPC.

Thank you. Wasn't expecting a commitment, just an idea on the plan going forward. "...being negotiated... " probably means no technical implementation has started yet. ;-)
 
Im not sure if this is related to the problem in Cape Town according to the Afrihost site, however since the move to MTN i've had issues streaming certain things on the anime channels. I have absolutely no issues when it comes to downloading items, just streaming is where my issue is. I also have a slightly higher ping to Dota 2 servers (normally 160 now 200+) and today has been extremely weird. My line has been continually dropping throughout the day. Ive never had this issue until today and im hoping its sorted out tomorrow. Ive reset my router and ive tried to reset my line but that keeps giving me a failure. I have a 2Mbps uncapped account as well as a 2Mbps line through afrihost.

Any help or ideas would be appreciate as i really do enjoy staying with Afrihost :).

Looks like axxess have gone ahead early and started the migration from the axxess-express domains and now im using another account. Thanks axxess for being the useless typical company we have all come to know.
