That server is located in The Netherlands which I presume is not local to you if you're on an Afrihost internet connection :)

please sort out the international latencie geting 350 in games! last night it was 500 flip dot know if it was the mtn move but wow its bad for gaming
 
Urgh, Youtube videos are buffering every few seconds, even at 360p playback. I'm on 4MB uncapped, it's been **** for the last 2 days now.

Yeah went into battleground nice and fast with low latency, next moment latency spiked to 1500 - 2000.
End result eventually got DC and now trying to log in tonight latency is still crap and got a penalty from last night.
 
And Afrihost is f...... again :/
200ms local and 400ms to 500ms int ping.

Guess it was lies that they fixed anything this morning. All that happened was the ping got better due to less load on the interconnects :/
This is what happens when you do things in a rush and no planning.

They also promised me a call this morning and guess what , silence is golden.

Oh, that is normal. I think I have 5 times now been promised by Afrihost that they would call me back, and 0 times has it actually happened. When someone from Afrihost support says they will call you back, it simply means "I will now hang up on you and hope that when you lose your patience and call us again, it will be someone else who will have to handle your call".
 
Same thing as last night - after 6pm things start running south rather rapidly. And I haven't gotten a response from the ticket I submitted yet, although I suppose everybody is running around with their hair on fire over there.

WebAfrica backup account runs like gold though.

Exactly the same issue as last night... bit worse. Deja vu.
 
Got online early tonight. Grabbed some ping averages.(no fancy graphs sorry)
Pre-6pm - local 80ms / international 210ms
Post-6pm - local 243ms and getting worse. International 440ms.

When that techie on night-shift gets back from Steers, maybe he can take a look at the latency issues before he dips into his chips.
 
This is really BS, now to cancel you'll have to wait till the end of the month & sit with crap internet or pay extra & get a new isp, this is really beyond teething this is sommer k@k.
How are you supposed to use the internet if it is like this?
What are you to do stay & wait till its sorted or just jump the ship before it sinks?

Are we allowed to sell World of Warcraft accounts on this site? Cause it looks like either start looking at a better ISP or sell my World of Warcraft accounts. Thanks for the great new network Afrihost.
O yeah also thanks for the [Sarcasm].. reply on my previous requests to find out if we can be moved back to IS network on request or not.

Cause MTN network sucks for me.
 
Speeds are beyond epic tonight! I actually had to take some muscle relaxants to try slow my eyes down from seeing the pages loading so fast :rolleyes:
