Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I see Afriman has created a fake account for him or this must be some Afrihost fanboy. Thie problem is def not Microsoft's fault.
If I have a phone number 082 111 1111 and I buy myself another phone number 074 222 2222 and don't give anyone the new number. Then is it my customer's fault they can't get hold of me on the new number???

Afrihost swopped networks like not even fully a week or so before Windows 8 and probably also never had the decency to inform Microsoft / Microsoft SA about their new IP range.

So yeah MTN / Afrihost is fully to blame for this.

And new_in_za2 doesn't give a **** (starred them myself) about customer service rather blames the customer or refer the problem to some one else instead of looking for a solution I prefer more something like "how can we assist you" instead of a "It is not our problem so go **** your self" new_in_za2 sounds like a afrihost first line support to me

Fact is it is afrihost/mtn IP range which is giving problems so are you going to tell your customers sorry it is not our problem the problem is solved, but in the mean time no other ISP in SA has issues. So basically they're telling us go to the competition because their you can download/upgrade without issues. I would find a solution even if it like I suggested setup a temp proxy to assist my customers but clearly some people rather ignore the problem and point fingers

Even if you're not the cause of he problems maybe you should find a solution instead of pointing fingers which will get nobody anywhere

Oh, I care about customer service. You're not my customer, however. You're an idiot on an online forum who, despite having been educated politely and told how to fix his problem, continues to rant on and on about his issue in the wrong place. I use this thread to read and write about problems with Afrihost. This is not a thread to complain about problems with Microsoft. You're extremely off-topic. Go start a thread with Microsoft complaints to complain about Microsoft.

Fact is it afrihost/mtn IP range whch is giving problems so are you going to tell your customers

The facts are:
1) Microsoft are 100% in control of which IP addresses Microsoft choose to block. Afrihost have nothing to do with this.
2) You're hallucinating. Your reply to being informed by a third party that you are 100% off the mark is to somehow 'accuse' said third party of working for Afrihost, who you have decided must fix your non-Afrihost problem.
3) You're being willfully ignorant. That's a pretty ****ing sad state to be in.

Even if you're not the cause of he problems maybe you should find a solution instead of pointing fingers which will get nobody anywhere

And remember, when your car breaks down tomorrow, call Afrihost for support. Even if Afrihost have nothing to do with your car breaking down, of course they must fix your car for you.

It's actually more likely that when they drive their car into a pothole and the wheel breaks, they'll blame the manufacturer, not the Roads Agency.

Yeah, your analogy is better. Another analogy would be if they use the Afrihost Airlines to fly them to USA, and USA then refuses to let them in and they then insist that Afrihost Airlines must let them into USA. Instead of talking to the US INS, they spend all their time complaining on an Afrihost Airlines forum about how evil Afrihost Airlines are for not letting them into USA.

All I want to know is what happened to the 70% network capacity with all clients unshaped when Afrihost first moved over to MTN?

All I want is a decent connection when I want to use the Internet for something. After all that is what I pay you for!

Speeds are S@#T today, But Why Afrihost, can you please fix your network if you can or call mtn to fix there S@#T network....

Hi guys I just found out this there is nothing wrong with Afrihost / MTN new network.

I can't play World of Warcraft lagging like a b*tch latency is sky high. (It's Blizzards servers so it's their fault.)
I can't play Youtube clips on 360p without massive buffering (It's must be Youtube's fault, cause it's running of their servers)
Any and all websites you try and download from http downloads are crawling down the line. (Well must be all website's fault. Afrihost don't own any of their servers)

Afrihost is not to be blamed for anything and must be praised and the sun is shining from their azzes.

Well I don't consider myself an idiot but your opinion is up to you I just have the following facts

I reported a problem to afrihost about speeds/performace and the fact that microsoft upgrade does not want to work on their IP range

Answer i got back : All issues have been resolved ?

I answered back and said I still can't do windows upgrade

Answer back : All issues have been resolved check your DNS settings (which have nothing todo with the issue)

I answered back and said I still can't do windows upgrade and I checked my DNS (which I know is not the cause)

Answer back : All issues have been resolved it must be your PC setup as they got it working

Their standard answer is just All issues have been resolved instead acknowledging their are still issues (beside the network performance)

I can get around it, but I know many people wouldn't and would just believe all the rubbish the support guys are telling them

and I still say in SA it seems only the MTN/Afrihost IP range is giving a problem are you just going to shove around your customers and say sorry it is MicroSofts problem or are you going todo something about it and see how you can assist (either by means of setting up a proxy and explain you customers how to set it up on heir PC or make sure MS sorts out their issues (which the Afrihost Fanboys seem to think is the problem)

Afrihost/MTN IP range is giving issues (besides performance) with the windows upgrade and other networks in SA don't.

and car problems have nothing todo with afrihost so no I won't call or expect afrihost to deal with that, but I expect them to either give clear answers, not give answers which don't make sense and if possible to look for a solution not just give a we don't care attitude it is your problem (I am using their infrastructure)

And coming back to the pothole comment

It's actually more likely that when they drive their car into a pothole and the wheel breaks, they'll blame the manufacturer, not the Roads Agency.

I see afrihost as the infrastructure provider (the road)and the IP issue as the pothole so I will complain to afrihost

Well ... this is perfect - I've been using my WebAfrica account this afternoon to play online with, and when I tried to switch back to my Afrihost account now - surprise surprise ... "no response".

I think I might just reconsider my stance with regards to waiting until the end of the month.

By the way - what do they consider a heavy user? 50GB, 100GB, 200GB?

Well I used 40GB on a 4Mbps line and I'm getting throttled to ****

That Afrihost's support is useless is hardly news. Despite your claim that I am Afriman in disguise, if you go through my post history, you will see several posts from me pointing this out. However, the fact that Afrihost's support is useless has nothing to do with Microsoft having screwed up on their end. Is this so hard to understand?

and I still say in SA it seems only the MTN/Afrihost IP range is giving a problem are you just going to shove around your customers and say sorry it is MicroSofts problem or are you going todo something about it and see how you can assist (either by means of setting up a proxy and explain you customers how to set it up on heir PC or make sure MS sorts out their issues (which the Afrihost Fanboys seem to think is the problem)

Again, understanding how networks and the internet work equals being an Afrihost fanboy? YES, MAKES PERFECT SENSE.

Afrihost/MTN IP range is giving issues (besides performance) with the windows upgrade and other networks in SA don't.

So, when I personally ignore your posts on here in the future because you are dense as **** and wilfully ignorant, are you going to complain to Afrihost that I am ignoring you? Are you going to demand that Afrihost does something until I stop ignoring you? What should Afrihost do to make me stop ignoring you in your opinion?

So maybe tomorrow I should send this email to Microsoft??

[email protected] ???

To whom it may concern.

I really want to buy Windows 8 and support your software.
How ever my ISP recently went over to a new network provider and now I can't buy and download your software legally.
The IP range my ISP got about a week prior to the launch of Windows 8 are not detected as being from South Africa or seem to be blocked.

Could you please unblock the 105.*.*.* IP range and authenticate it as a South African IP range.
I am sending you this email on behalf of my ISP, because I 'm not sure if they know how to use a phone. Also they seem to think it's beter for the end user having to deal with Microsoft directly instead of a big company like themselves.

I really still want to legally buy your software, but my patience are running low. If I end up pirating your
brand new Operating System then it's totally your fault also my ISP who is Afrihost.

Regards
Annoyed Customer.
