Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Torrent download running at a stable +- 400kBs on 4Mb Biz Uncapped.

I dont think the business uncapped is suffering from as many issues as the normal uncapped.
 
Tonight is by far the worst night I have had on the new infrastructure. I can't even open web pages and when I try post a reply on any local forum it bombs out, but does actually post.
 
Well something got borked :( damm 4 meg and doing less than a 1 meg account ???What you guys break now again ? from Somerset West .
 
Wow is this how internet feels like :D :D

1st time in about a week and a half that my NZB is going at 410kb/s :D I can browse, download NZB at the same time.. It's a miracle :D


PS: This is not running Afrihost.. Cause their connection is sh*t. I am back on IS now.. Thanks to my new ISP Plugg
@Afriman Sorry maybe in a couple months after Afrihost sorts out their mess I can decide to come back. Also since your network has been so unstable since beginning of the month, it would be nice to refund the users that cancel with a pro-rata amount for the rest of the month as a sign of good faith. I might actually decide to use you guys again if the network ever gets sorted after a while.

I must admit that I am by now very, very tempted to find a new ISP. However, when Afrihost were using IS, I was never, never able to come even close to my line speed even though I very rarely download anything. With Afrihost/MTN, I can at least reach line speed _sometimes_. Now the question is of course: Was it Afrihost or IS to blame for my previous poor experience with Afrihost/IS?

LOL! So Plugg is ok? Was thinking of moving to them as their pricing is in line with what I am currently paying AfriFail.
 
Well I never had any issues with Afrihost while they where running on IS, only problems I had was line related problems, well with Telkom's copper being so bad I still have on certain times when the line goes mad, but after router reboot it comes ok again.

But speed and latency is better on Plugg so far, will test it proper during the week and put my review here. :D So far I'm a happy camper.
 
I think all accounts are being limited to 1MB levels. I'm on a 1MB and cannot complain, but I'm not a gamer, and I don't use it for skype that often, maybe that's why mine works for me?

I want to pay 1/4 of the price since I"m only getting a 1/4 of my speed! :mad:

Been busy on Twitter and email support trying to find answers. I compliment support for being so nice and prompt and getting into contact with me, I just wish though that the full story would come out since I think it's pretty obvious that all accounts are being throttled to 1Mb/s.

I've shown this as my afrihost capped account is full speed, Telkom and webafrica accounts are full speed as well, it's just the uncapped account where I'm now getting about 0.7Mb down

Yes, after searching for nearest server.

When I change server it shows me London 0km, staines 20km etc etc. I can't select a za server :-P
