and seconds after my 'not good at the moment' post suddenly my nzb download jumped to 1mBps

afriman, is that you? ;)

Shame that speedtest.net can't set size or number of tests to run automatically. Would have made wave testing quite simple and more automated.

...aaaaaand its gone

lol - throttled back down to 400kBps.. i swear somebody is watching these posts and pushing buttons, laughing :D

After my last post, latency stabilised and I got a good hour of d3 in.

i am a paying customer and demand feedback. i havnt missed one payment and but you constantly fail to deliver the service i pay you for.

In Second Life I even get kicked off the servers since I'm too slow to keep the connection going. Had to cancel a lot of activities already, which makes me losing money. And all my friends are laughing about the poor fuXXing African 3rd world-ish me.

It's embarassing, and neither momma Telkom nor our various ISPs are helping in any way to give (South) Africa a better image.

AH, I've always been a fanboi of yours, you know? True you have your merits, you did great things ... but that's the past. The present is crap. And I'm sick and tired of waiting for a better future while I'm paying my fees and need my good connection NOW!!!

...and fix the network. :)

Speeds are a bit up and down.

Something happened on their network now. When I do a speedtest it would always pick up Jhb as the best server and I'm in Somerset West. Now tonight it picks up Cape Town for the speedtest.

Apologies for the slow internet access you are experiencing. I am doing Black Ops II preload :)

13Gb in case you were wondering, peak download rate of 800kb/s on a 4mb line :wtf:

I have been with Afrihost for a while now (few years), now, I find myself finding alternative options for my bandwidth provider - ever since they did the MTN Move...

Been a sucky weekend of terrible speed and unable to play WOW.

Thank goodness for my FNB Connect free bandwidth to tied me over.

Don't know if this still works but give it a try Run Speedtest from command line found via google search :p.

Haven't logged into my AH account PC to test but wow, lotsa issues this weekend. Hope it gets resolved soon with a full report back from AfriMan :).

Other than the usually problems being experienced. Anyone else experiencing extremely slow speeds on Amazon web services, such as Coursera?
