"Come on over to the uncapped side", they said, "we have candy."
"And now let's switch to MTN, everything will be so much better then", they claimed.

And thanks so much for yet another ruined sunday night. :wtf: I'm so fooking angry right now, I could kill any Afrihoster I get my fingers on! People, I'm not getting any younger, you know! Too old by now to have any patience for African mindset and slowpokery anymore.

My credit card takes sometimes a bit longer to work in SA (since the account is in Germany), and you switch off my connection at once. Now imagine we would switch our ISPs in the same manner if you fail to deliver solutions after 5 minutes. Only that you're failing since like 3 weeks now!!!

Agree, thats why i just cancelled my Afrihost account, was indeed sad but being a gamer and giving them 2 weeks now to fix the problem i can no longer wait.

Even though I can game again, I still got random latency spikes while playing COD4 for the last hour. Got quite a few lag deaths. Annoying.

Was almost ready to switch to Openweb but they won't accept payment by credit card and I guess they also need an SA ID, which I don't have yet. So I guess I must sit it out until AH comes up with a viable solution.
Aaaaargs!

I had it with this crap... Afrihost shows green but if this is the 4Meg account speeds and stability i can expect then no way! I just cancelled my 4 meg unshaped with Afrihost and my backup account with AXXESS.

If i left it till after the 15th i would be billed & stuck with them for two months. There service agreement tires you in for another 30days if you don't cancel before the 15th. There is no way i am giving them R400 for service like this!

I moved to OpenWeb this evening and i am getting full 4meg line speed internationally with 160ms ping to London.. and stable.

Somehow I never get more than this on this speediest.

Yesterday was the first time that I had so much disconnects in a day. wth is going on?

Im not in the mood to go through signed up processes again for another isp. Why cant the services we have in SA be consistent.

We were promised that this move would be great yet we end up with a even worse experience.

Anyone have any suggestions about an alternative Uncapped provider for DSL? Its been so long that I have no idea who would offer a better service? MWEB? OpenWeb?

Connection to my company's VPN on Afrihost (4MB uncapped) is deplorable. I have temporarily switched over to FNB Connect - so much faster.

Really bad download speeds at the moment.
Speedtest battling to load. Downloads going at 25% on a 2mb line.

@Afriman
Until the network issues are 100% resolved shouldn't you change the network status on the Afrihost homepage.
Tickets get closed everyday and then the network is supposed to be fully operational but we all know that it is not. Please stop lying to people and just be honest about the problems even your CEO has acknowledged you are having.

Connection on Afrihost 4mb/s was great over the weekend!
Saturday was fine, on Sunday there was an issue around 2-3pm here in PE.
Otherwise Youtube 720p was streaming without a hitch.
Speedtest.net not reliable based on the performance from HTTP downloading and web experience.
Only had an issue over the weekend with Mac updates being very slooooow.
Seems like Afrihost is getting there :)

Weekend saw a definite increase in performance, although at times seemed to bog down and lag pretty bad. But overall much better.

Changed to a temporary ISP account which Afrihost support provided, until they sort the issue with the 4mb Uncapped account.

I keep getting dropped from games :/ even when browsing i notice it.. it seems it like drops connection for a few seconds every hour :/
