Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Do yourselfs a favour e-mail Openweb ask for a trial account, they will gladly assist you with one you can test with for the next 24hours and if you don't like it stay with Afrihost, but beleave me you will :)
 
So , i guess i finally joined this party this morning , my 1Meg line is downloading between 0.3kb/s - 1kb/s

+1 everything drops for a about 10seconds at a time, DNS servers unreachable etc. but PPPOE connection stays up :mad:
 
@Afrihost - WTF is going on my account just keeps disconnecting in WoW??
 
I love watching this thread.. it's like watching a movie, now i just need the popcorn then we sorted.

update - so i;ve been given a capped account for now from afrihost which seems to be working fine , hopefully they sort out my uncapped soon.

So far I've had DCs in all online games on a daily basis. Could it be monitoring software closing "inactive" connections?
 
This is the problem with SA consumers.

Dont just complain, take your business somewhere else that can supply you with the product you need without this rubbish.

It started yesterday, I resorted to playing D3 over a VPN connection to a server that sits on Mweb's backbone to get a stable connection going. This morning everything drops for a couple of seconds and then comes back.

Also the problem with most posters here... Assumptions. I'm on the focus group with AH, meaning trying to help them getting better.

Been like that with TSW, D3, RIFT and GW2. Have not had a chance to try out BF3. D3 is especially sensitive as TSW only give me one or two DCs and that is that. D3 well... it just DC :(

Its got nothing to do with inactive connections as im browsing and doing other stuff in the background.

Either way i've signed up for the promotion with openweb.

I'm specifically talking about the connection from your wow client to the wow server. No amount of surfing is going to keep that in check, just a thought. Going to see if an additional ping to current connected dialbo3 server changes it... or just wireshark it :p

Dude its got nothing to do with monitoring, or do you not understand the concept of TCP ack/syn ? The wow client and my computer are constantly talking that is how a TCP connection works. The issue is afrihosts network nothing WoW as WoW runs perfectly fine when i am using my other FNB account.
