Ahhhh... I have my 10ms ping back.

I was on a capped Afrihost account but I have had enough. Just using my data up for the month and then switching to WebAfrica. I use my line for server administration through SSH and the increased latency is just not worth it. I am in Cape Town with a bunch of servers less than 20Km away, but I was getting 50ms ping if I am really lucky, 100-3000ms when not. I now have a 10ms ping with 6 hops to my servers. The way it should be.

I am running two accounts at the moment and routing SSH and VPN through a WebAfrica Business ADSL account with browsing and downloads through Afrihost Capped 35GB. Will swap the Afrihost account for a WebAfrica Capped Home account (or maybe uncapped) from next month.

2mb uncapped line her. cant get it to go faster than when I had a 512k line. pointless paying for a 2mb line. and no. im not one of these guys trying to download the entire internet. cant game with it since it times out and disconnects every 20min. its just getting worse lately. sigh

Thought I'd play cod4 again. latency was ok-ish when stable, but the latency spikes and packet loss made it unplayable. Over it.

Just cancelled my account. feeling better already. What ISP would you guys suggest? Openweb good?
