I've seen a couple of similar reports, though my results at home seem OK for now.

Will check if anything has changed on our side :(

WoW to EU server running at 209ms and that is multi-boxed, so it is great for leveling.. (can start healing 25mans at 160ms)
WoW to US server running at 219ms and that is fine only doing dailies (can tank 25mans at 160ms, so waiting patiently)
son is playing BF3 and he is notching up a 83/17 kill ratio so he is smiling

just D/L sucks at 1.01kbps

i'm sorry that happened in your case, truly. We should have handled that a lot better, and to ask you to phone Telkom is unacceptable!

Got the same 2 days ago. Line managed by afrihost completely dead so sent a mail to afrihost. This was the reply:

"
I trust that you are well :-)

You will need a voice line technician to fix this fault, please contact telkom on 10210 and report this fault as soon as possible.

If you need any further assistance feel free to contact us.

We do try and address and follow up all faults, but voice line maintenance and ADSL maintenance are completely separate departments, and we are not permitted by Telkom to log faults with the voice line departments. My experience is that if you log it online (You need to register first which takes a while), it goes pretty fast. There are a lot more technicians than for ADSL.

You can log voice line faults by SMS as well. I have had very good experience with this.

Send the faulty line number (full 10 digit phone number) to 012 3210212

Ps nntp running flat out.

Got it thanks. ADSL line stops working = voice line fault so gotta go to Telkom directly.

I'm confused now, are the days of pulling 50GB a month over ? If they are, i'm spending waaaaay too much for a 2meg bundle when a 1meg bundle will do exactly the same.

If the voice line is totally dead, no dial tone but you still have ADSL it has to go via Telkom. If the voice part of the line is noisy, inaudible, etc it goes to Telkom. If your voice line works but ADSL is non-existent, slow, intermittent, etc then you report it to us.

If there is no service on ADSL and voice, then we can report it because the cause is most likely the same.

@afriman

BUT I finally found the combination that is causing it, or so far it seems to be.

Ingame vsync on.

Now I turned this on because I was getting stuttering as soon as I hold down lmb or rmb. However when I force vsync on from display driver it is fine and no DCs yet.

well up until 2205 I was enjoying 203ms ping, but it has been creeping up slowly but surely, now sitting at 350+ atleast the D/L has gone from 0.48 to 2.95,,, spose cant have both

We have some problems now, that much is evident. But our track record shows that we are the best team in the country to pull the rabbit out of the hat, and make the internet more awesome.

We've only sold ADSL for three years, and won ISP of the Year for the last two of those. We're definitely on the right track, we might have growing pains, but when the dust settles, it's going to be milk and honey for Afrihost clients :)

WOW! Your marketing statement hasn't changed. Was told the same thing - verbatim - back when I cancelled my ADSL connection with you. It also took them TWO WEEKS to cancel the freakin account. Instant access but slow on the cancellation.

If it's any help from a trouble shooting angle, I'm on Mweb Uncapped but my line is still with Afrihost. (4mb circuit) I'll post again when I'm moved over at the end of the month. I hope your speeds improve in the interim.
