I seem to be shaped to 50KBps.

One torrent -> 50KBps
Then I add two more the speed on the one drops and it still maxes at 50KBps total.

i thought I was seeing things after running initial speedtest.
Ran it a further 3 times with different servers - and realised my eyesight is perfect.

Nope - your eyes are not deceiving you. AH have shapped everyone to a 1/4 of their line speed!

Paid close onto R 400 for bugger all.

Afrihost should be giving us 'double our money back'.

Stuck at 30KB/s on my 1 meg account :/ was getting better speeds on my old 384kbps line! Logged a support ticket and it was closed before I even replied to the (first) email asking for speed and ping tests...

Haven't logged into my 4mb uncapped account (75.351GB) for a week, speedtest is full line speed but http downloads running at 120kB as of 12:55am. My prediction is they will speed up between 1-2am until 8am then back to 1/4 speed. Classic case of over subscription and having to throttle to keep latency in check. Poor planning plain and simple on behalf of Afrihost. I have already cancelled and its not too late folks, apparently if you hit cancel before the 25th you won't be charged another month of this.

Well in typing this message its now hit 1:02am and still running at 120kB.

yep! torrents being throttled (all through last night) at 35kB/s on 1Mbps line. Combined speed of torrents never exceed 35kB/s; speed remains constant.

My router couldn't get a default gateway IP. Thankfully, it is magically working this morning.
