Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Once more the sound of crickets chirping from Afrihost on the HTTP download issue. 6k today and for most of this week on a 1 meg line is an utter joke. I have absolutely no issue with reasonable shaping of P2P downloads during the day, but not for HTTP traffic. Cancellation imminent. A PM from Afrihost would be appreciated if they want to prove that my business is valuable to them.

10mb uncapped, Durban

Looking VERY good tonight.. NNTP is shaped down to 630kBps, as opposed to the usual 60kBps :)
1080p YouTube: Full line speed (1.1mBps)
speedtest.net Full line speed (1.1mBps)
http browsing / gif downloads: Very fast, no discernible shaping

Keep it up guys!

Speeds are poor tonight , i cant even play Youtube videos properly. Looks like a classic case of one step forward and two steps back. Very close to cancelling now.

I think people expect (and not unfairly) to have similar performance to what they had before the MTN move.
I got full line speed pretty much 24/7 then.

Ah, I guess it's fair enough then. I've just always found that if your connection is shaped to between 50 - 70% of its speed during office hours, then it's generally regarded as acceptable shaping. If it's not consistent, then it's a whole other matter entirely.

From speedtest.net this morning, to Durbs:

After reading Woody Leonhard's article "How to measure your true Internet speed" here, this is what I get from DSLReports (USA site):

Can anyone stream damn thing from grooveshark.com ?

On IS I can stream smoothly even while downloading. Since using AH's 10mb uncapped, I can't play more than 3 seconds without buffering even while the line isn't doing anything else.

The MTN move was the most retarded thing afrihost could of done, I was with afrihost for about a year.. 3 weeks after MTN moved.. i could not stand it.
