I just pulled the trigger and signed up for the current special at OpenWeb.. "Gamers Delight, Downloaded Right!!". 4Mbps Uncapped only R379 / month.
Was paying for a special @ Afrihost R369 for 4Mbps uncapped - but performance has been dismal for a while now.
Will keep some accounts and hosting active with Afrihost...
Hopefully things will improve next year...

Why am I getting crappy speed when I download something that is on the TENET network, this should be counted as local. But it is going the same speed as international HTTP downloads.

Try and download VLC from http://mirror.ufs.ac.za especially during peak time. While downloading something from SAIX's mirror goes full speed.

might be a slow D/L on a 4MB line, but I can play WoW, browse forums, FB and other sites, kids watching youtube, playing BF3 and missus on the "horrorscopes" ... been patient and waiting for the IPC next year

I'm seeing a few issues a YouTube being reported, can I assume that otherwise service is stable and working well? Not sure if there is a general issue there, I tested out a few YouTube videos myself (Red Bull Kluge is a pretty crazy one) and it was running nicely with no buffering on my iPad. Will run some more tests to see if this pops up again.

I'll try to monitor what's happening as best I can, but if there is anything urgent, please just drop me a PM or email so I know to respond quickly.

Dunno so much lah... youtube 720 streamed with one or two buffers, gaming latency was acdeptable, WoW, GW2, Dota2 all had 220max latency... maybe its your exchange lah..
