That is the most I could discern from the client zone. I can't find where to click to get an hour by hour. All I see is a graph with the date on x-axis and Gb on the y-axis

But I am starting to wonder at the accuracy, judging by steam's own download counter, and the amount of games completely downloaded so far, the amount of data in the few youtube videos, the actual 300 or so megs needed to update my two pcs etc, I dont know that I have actually received around 12Gb in data, not that I can actually quantify by pointing and the downloaded products I received?

I'm with Fritz, AH screwed up and they need to take the full blame

Ironic I'm using my OpenWeb account to make this post as my AH account prevents me from doing more than one thing at a time.

Well you can only really fix what you broke when you stop blaming others. I also feel all the "jammer" emails are really lame as they are not fixing their problems. If I wanted promoses, I would get an ISP from a politician.

But I've voted with my feet and canceled my account which runs till end of next month. Will most likely just switch over to Open Web before then.

I owe no loyality to any ISP so if they suck, sod them, I'm off to another one.

You can definitely find it in old ClientZone, by clicking on the graph. You can also click on Data Logs and download a spreadsheet of detailed bandwidth for each session on your ADSL account.

I don't think they've updated this in new clientzone yet, but it's a very handy feature.
 
Seems like I'm accessing about 1.2Gb of Data per hour then..

Just conducted a test with testmy.net, this is what comes out:

You might have a problem...
Your connection scored only 25% of the MTN Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd average (75% slower). This does not always mean that you're in bad shape. If the Internet package you subscribe to is slower than most people using your ISP you will get this message.

It could be a more serious issue...

Not funny anymore. I believe the testmy.net test is more accurate than speedtest.net since ISPs are not prioritizing it. It's more true to my real experience in any way. And that is ... crappy to say the least.

We don't prioritise speedtest or whitelist it in any way, though clearly the methodology used by testmy.net is very different hence different results.

Best to drop me a PM so we can have our guys look into what your experience is like and see if we can improve this for you :)

The qos does (or did a week ago) in fact penalize speedtest.net. You'd run at full speed until the data transferred in that session hit some threshold and then it would slow right down.
 
According to clientzone, I've now moved 33Gb. However only two games showed "Ready to Play" this morning. The rest are all still downloading bits and pieces on and off.

@Afriman, sorry for the PM block, I don't know where the option is to allow PM if its blocked. I asked a mod to change my username to my preferred handle, and now a bunch of stuff won't work properly anymore.
 
As far as I can see, my line gets throttled to 1mbps during certain times and other times I get the full 2mbps.
@AfriMan. Is there a timeslot where everyone is throttled to 1mbps? and other times people get full speed? What are these times? I can seldom watch a youtube vid even at 240 without buffering, which is fairly annoying. I pay for 2mbps, I expect 2mbps or at least close to it.
 
I noticed yesterday that my brother connecting to my router by wifi, and not running any download or using Internet for anything other than watching a youtube video and playing minecraft, had his 1hour Lee Evans video play flawlessly,

While my pc with its constant steam and gamersgate downloads, was buffering on youtube videos at 360.

Is your PC not perhaps also downloading in the background?
 
Did you all get that email from Gian about the"mistake" that was made? I replied to yet and am yet to get a response...

I've checked that. Disconnected other machines from the router and only I am connected (not a wifi router).

I'm running Windows 8, and it's Task Manager gives you a good view of network traffic and what applications are using what traffic as well as a total usage across all users and processes. Caps out around 90-100k. At night (after midnight +/-), flies up to around 200k, which is what I expect.

We don't throttle lines, we merely give priority to real time services. So you should be able to get best speeds on browsing, streaming, VoIP and gaming regardless of the time of day. Downloads may be slower depending on the demand for bandwidth at that particular time, but it adjusts dynamically, throughout the day, to give maximum bandwidth back to non-real time services.

The mails (and replies) are from Gian, who is obviously an extremely busy man already, not to mention getting thousands of reply's when he send out a mail. He will definitely get back to you, but if you need an urgent answer, drop me a PM and I'll try and get the info you need quicker :)

They will say Qos blah blah blah but my experiences and many others is this : 8am - 1am - 1% torrent line speed, 10% http download speed , 70% youtube speed . 1am - 8am - everything becomes full line speed. So yeah at the moment Qos is nothing more than a fancy term for throttling. Im glad i only have one more week to suffer through it, the last few months have been an absolutely horrible internet experience.
