I recommended AH to a number of people before and after the move to MTN, I feel quite embarrassed now, with all of them complaining about the service we are all receiving.

I made recommendations and then those people Google searched this thread and thought I was blowing smoke up their.. So I'm hoping the month end anticipation is going to pay off so I can back up my endorsement

Houston we have a problem - Skype for the past few days has been up to crap. Audio is fine, but the pictures have been very blocky. SWitched to FNB Connect and the picture is perfect.

Been downloading Distros at an incredible 30kbp/s!!! SO MUCH SPEEED *sarcasm*. currently downloading a nexus toolkit at at a ridiculous 23kbp/s. This is absolutely absurd, is there any point in sticking around? Webafrica is looking soo much more appealing right now seeing as they moved back to IS, lets all return to the greener, and more functional, side of internet!

10KB/s on a 10 meg bundle for torrents.

HTTP still quite fast though :)

Just an observation ....

How is it that the top downloader on 4Mb line could download more than the top downloader on a 10Mb line? Isn't a 10Mb line suppose to connect at 2.5 times the speed of the 4Mb line ?

The top 5 downloaders on 10Mb combined downloaded 3,383Tb
The top 5 downloaders on 4Mb combined downloaded 3,458Tb

Interesting that a 4Mb seems to be better that a 10Mb line according to these figures...

4Mbps is our most popular uncapped product, and many clients have multiple uncapped accounts, possibly for downloading purposes and on 6-10Mbps lines. But ultimately we don't really know what the guys are doing, we pull the figures directly off the network. It might not be an indication that in general this is the trend that all 4Mbps and 10Mbps accounts are performing at.

Drop me PM if you still having issues and we'll have a look. Streaming audio or video should be highest priority :(

So when is that extra IPC coming online AfriMan?

Getting tired of 50KB/s on a 10Mb line

Everything looks pretty much on track for the 25th go live deadline. So far everything seems to be going smoothly with initial testing, so there's no reason to suspect otherwise (knock on wood) :)

Sweet and the WACS uncontended link?

@ AfriMan, I sent an email to your accounts department yesterday enquiring about a test account but they say that Afrihost doesnt provide any.

Why is that? I really want to test your network, I dont care too much for 60day money back guarantee's etc.

GBoss! You wasting your time! The car on the showroom floor is perfect, in all respects.

Hey Grim, according to your profile you're located in Pretoria so the extra IPC is meaningless for you. It's meant for us western folks in die kaap, in order to finally catch up with the flawless service you guys already receive up there in Transvaal. Ain't it?

Well, yes and no. When traffic moves from Joburg IPC to Cape Town and Durban, that existing capacity will remain, just shared by fewer users. So there should definitely be an improved overall experience for all uncapped users i.e. How I learned to stop worrying and love the IPC ;)

We don't offer trial accounts, true. You can drop me a PM and I can give you a link for a discount on your first month. Let me know if you're keen :)

incorrect.
We all share the same 8GBPS at the moment. When you feckers get off, our experience will improve too.
