Morning guys

From our side, testing seems to be hundreds. We're not seeing throughput issues and usage seems to be at normal levels. From my own testing since last night when EASSy came back up around midnight. I've also just seen a report from testing in Cape Town, it all seems to be good. There seemed to be a little more latency in JHB this morning (marginal) but they're looking awesome now.

I see a couple of guys mentioning slow speeds. Please PM me, we'll need to check if there's any reason why you're not getting good performance out of your ADSL :(

Please... look at your sig.. piss off - Affiliate or something - I am not impressed

Oh I seem to have missed your post

Please do some research before you run your mouth child,if I experience a problem i'm quick to complain, the fact that I still have that in my sig is a testament to the few problems I've experienced

Enjoying great new speeds 3,5Mbps and 19ms latency on 4Meg line in Stellenbosch. Well done AH and keep going!

I don't believe it will last though. Afrihost have always managed to fail me. Maybe they'll suprise me this time:)

Things looking better tonight. Will monitor because usually at some point between 20h00 and 0h00 it falls over. :)

Your international better than local - how is that possible? ;)

Are you using the MyBB speedtest?

Yes, it true! We're also offering Uncapped accounts for R1 for the rest of March for new signups! Great time to join us :)

Does a new sign up mean totally new Afrihost account, or new ADSL account added to existing Afrihost account?

I have been having seriously bad office hours shaping on OpenWeb so signed up again for an Afrihost 4mbps package yesterday to see if any improvement over OpenWeb. Do I not qualify for the R1 deal?

BTW: Office Hours usage since trying Afrihost yesterday is a lot better than OpenWeb. Never thought I would say that. ;)

Should be any new consumer uncapped product, whether you have an existing account or not

'Tis better now, AfriMan... Up until an hour or so ago the speeds in Jo'burg were horrendous, but things seem to have normalised.

As a bit of an aside, where should I start if I want to get to the bottom of why I simply can't stream a 720p Youtube clip? A 4 meg line (actually 4 meg account on a 10 meg line) should be more than ample, but I haven't been able to for months. Wasn't ever much of a bother, but it's now starting to get annoying.

*edit*

My line's also with you guys...

I'd also love to find out why. The fact that our 1mbps Openweb uncapped at work can stream 480p without any buffering but again at this moment I'm barely able to stream 360p on a 4mbps surely says something isn't right
The progress bar stayed JUST in front of the play marker for a few seconds, then it actually buffered (360p) and when it started playing again, the play marker and the progress bar moved along at the same pace... WTF?
Last year I streamed 720p day in and day out with the same 4mbps and the line synced at about 6.5mbps

What is going on? :(
