Afrihost Uncapped, horrible experience.

My dad is on Afrihost uncapped and the experience so far while I've been here is just horrible.

I tested the line with an Afrihost capped account which yields normal speedtest results and no hassles, so it is not my line.

With a 4096 Uncapped account I get the following:

• Usually speedtests < 0.5mbps
• A speedtest that measured 0.08mbps 5 times in a row tonight. (capped works fine)
• Webpages stop loading halfway
• Videos buffer really slow if they don't just entirely stop.(which they do most of the time)
• Torrents never go over 15kbps

My average usage thus far this month (and it's the first month with them) is 2.46gb per day. If I am being throttled because that is considered too much for uncapped then I don't know what uncapped is.

Have anyone else had bad experiences with Afrihost uncapped?

I'm on Mweb and I'm really happy with them to be honest. I've had no complaints thus far.

I like how Afrihost is the cheapest with their 4mb uncapped in that article Viva linked. They get people with the price and then offer them a horrible product?

Afrihost just resell IS uncapped. It's been known forever that it was crap. His own fault for not doing research. If you want a quality connection, you need to pay for it.

I'd say get Openweb GOLD.

Most people say that the Gold makes a big difference!

I also tried Afrihost "uncapped" service when I first got ADSL, to find out that they throttled you too death after 40GB. Not really worth it so I Cancelled it and went to Mweb, but I still use their prepaid service.
