Afrihost Vodacom Fixed 5G thread

Day 3 of waiting on the couriers.

Called afrihost to follow up yesterday and the agent is still calling me back after his 1 hour promise.

New call today. Agent goes ahead to say delivery happens after 3-5 working days. I have no problem with that, my issue comes when they tell me it's out for delivery and I now have to take off work which costs me 6 months of their subscription for each day. It's now 3 days of waiting on "out for delivery". Let's see if they expect me to wait another day. If that's their solution then @AfriNatic or @Afrigirl will have to process cancellation and work on reimbursing me for the 3 days wasted due to their terrible service.

Alternative - Deliver it at your place of Work / Office Park ?
If they can't even get to my house I doubt they're going to go out into the countryside almost halfway up a mountain.

Finally feedback, courier claims he was at the house but nobody opened. What courier didn't count on was that we hvae cameras which I reviewed Monday and yesterday thinking I may have missed him when I went to the bathroom or something. But then again, I could be taking a dump and then the doorbell would ring on my cell and I'd still get him.

Solution from courier and afrihost... Why don't I drive out to the courier depot and collect since I am off from work.

Now what is pissing me off is that I was asking to arrange for something like this yesterday and i was turned down as the driver won't be able to wait for me on a certain place. Now they want me to take off tomorrow and collect myself.

Look at this **** response from a customer service rep. Ignore everything else and tell me how to cancel. Too lazy to pm me and come up with a solution.
 
Honestly I still can’t get bridge mode to work it just gives me a dhcp ip and not passing the public ip through my Unifi

Anyone got this down successfully ?
If using ZTE G5TS connect only to LAN/WAN port on ZTE then WAN port on your DHCP router.

This morning I am having the strangest issue, some services are working others not.

Using ICMP pings are dead and do not work and anything using this to check connectivity makes it think there is no internet.

POP3 mails are fine albeit slow but Whatsapp is not working well.

First I thought it was my UniFi router but plugged in directly to the ZTE shows the same issues.

Have rebooted and still no joy

Where was this announced , did not know about this fault, spent the morning diagnosing.

In fact Saturday and Sunday this was happening, was losing connection.

Seems other people are also having issues starting since the Vodacom issues on Sat/Sunday. Mine is barely working, I'm not bothering to use it for now, it can be completely dead one minute and speedtest 200mbps+ the next minute. Pages time out loading, streaming is not good, etc. My neighbor is also with Afrihost Vodacom 5G and is having the same issues. Afrihost support "refreshed my line" this morning but that did not resolve the issue.
 
Not great service either , outage is “resolved “ but internet drops every half hour , router shows connection up everything else says nope no internet. It has been three days now

This is also affecting cool ideas as well Vodacom messed up somewhere
 
There's a network change schedule for this evening.


Scheduled maintenance
Vodacom is conducting maintenance at 2026-03-09 23:00:00 - 2026-03-10 04:00:00. Users affected will experience limited to no connectivity during the maintenance window.

Try changing dns somehow that improved the connection for me you can see below I changed to Google dns and at ten o clock it came up from being completely dead to somewhat okay

Did the maintenance scheduled for last night help anyone? Mine is, if anything, worse than before. Will speak to support again later today when I get a chance.
