Afrihost vs Screamer? what should I get?

I'm looking for a capped account that runs at my line speed so I'm not really looking for any uncapped specials at the moment

I'd go with Afrihost at the moment (actually, I'm with them now) but beware that they seem to be doing a weird pro-rata data amount if you buy before the end of the month :/

For example, I signed up for a 2gb/month package and I got 750mb to use. Made me a little sad as it's all gone now. Got charged pro-rata as well though so I spose that's ok.

You will find this at any ISP! Top-up with current special @ R14.50 if your finances allows it, but there is nothing to "beware of" or anything "weird".

Unless you go for an uncapped offer, it is standard practice to charge pro-rata.

Yeah prorata charging I don't mind. It's the assuming I'll only use 750mb of data between now and month end.

I do get the reason, it's just something I haven't had before.

My downloading so far : wed 1.5 gb,thu 1.3,fri 1.6 GB (not downloading from 09:00 - 17.00).Sat 2.7 gb,sun 2.5 Gb(downloading 24/7). Pretty happy so far.

do not, I repeat, do not get a Screamer account. I signed up last week and am cancelling this week. My "Uncapped 512kbps" account gives me downloads from the UK at a stunning 50kbps. And the local network latency is horrendous.

Simply because they had the guts to start the price war. And because they backed that up with excellent service and further amazing specials like two for the price of one Top-ups.

Although I did have a problem connecting to my prepaid account at one stage, I sat on the phone with them and Telkom (with someone who seemed very helpful even at 10:30PM on a Friday) and it was sorted out.

Screamer:
I wanted to try them out but after the reports of bad service, I'll wait for the tutu dance on YouTube THEN we can see.

no point in getting uncapped if you end up with less than you would have gotten with Afrihost for the same money....

+ the fact that you can actually surf with Afrihost.
