Afrihost vs Screamer? what should I get?

Hey guys I just wanted to know what you recommend :)

I have heard some bad things about Screamer but apparently they will be fine soon.

Everyone finds Afrihost amazing! what makes them so good? is it their support?

(btw I'm not looking for the uncapped service, I just want to buy lots of cap really cheaply:D)
 
Afrihost!!

Simply because they had the guts to start the price war. And because they backed that up with excellent service and further amazing specials like two for the price of one Top-ups.
 
From reading these threads Afrihost seems to have had mainly some admin/accounting difficulties initially which may have been resolved by now.
Technically I have seen very few issues posted here regarding AfriHost.

The issues with Screamer seem to be mainly Technical.
 
Well I have both and I have been so frustrated with Screamer this week, that I have cancelled for December already and just seeing out the remainder of November with them.

I would understand the slow speeds, I accept that - the dropping of the connections and waiting for some time in the future for it to come back online, or you constantly tryign to re-connect. I am just not up for that.

I am running my Web Africa trial account right now and the difference of havign a stable connection that motors is amazing.

As soon as I have depleted this in the next 30 mins, I am logging on with my afrihost account.

I really can't handle the crawling that is Screamer.

Yes. Just use different PPPoE connections from each computer.
 
I would really recommend Afrihost, not a glitch yet.
Fast reliable and at a very nice price. Pay the R6 extra per gig and have your internet hassle free. This month top ups are at R14,50 per gig :) I think I might be in love.

There is not one bad thing I can say.

I signed up online had a couple of question, send an email and got a qualified reply within the hour, faxed my ID --> done.

Good line speed, no glitches. All that you expect from a good provider.
 
I'd go with Afrihost at the moment (actually, I'm with them now) but beware that they seem to be doing a weird pro-rata data amount if you buy before the end of the month :/

For example, I signed up for a 2gb/month package and I got 750mb to use. Made me a little sad as it's all gone now. Got charged pro-rata as well though so I spose that's ok.

PLEASE not any one of them, rather settle with axxess or openweb.

Cybersmart is also an option - see the thread about their sub-R500 uncapped offering.

Thanks for the replys everyone!:D

For now I'm not going to sign up to anyone but I think afrihost is the way to go, I wanted to get a 20GB cap (Afrihost = R580, Screamer = R460) but it seems that Screamer is having way to many problems.

I'm going to wait untill tuesday to see if the reviews about screamer get any better but thanks for the comments - for now my decision is Afrihost :)
